Patchwork block keeper

I am feeling pretty good, have had a productive day ( yep the washing did get dry but that isn't interesting) Lol!! I managed to get a lot of work done on a block keeper. I went to the local patchwork shop this morning only to find they didn't open for another 20 minutes, so as I had the dog in the car, decided not to hang around, but to head home and search through the fabric I have and see what I could use. How good was I!!!! And here is the result
still have to finish off the ends but I am going to get to those sometime!

Now I have a Fruity Ladies collection!! Block keeper, sewing bag and mug bag!! Can never have too many Fruity ladies!! Lol!!

Frustration

I went along to Wednesday night gathering last night and worked away diligently on my hexagons, was determined to get some more attached to the main quilt......today I got them out to add some more, only to find I have attached 3 in the wrong place!!!!!!! Oh my!!!!! So now I have to unsew - not easy with tiny little stitches!! Not a happy camper today, so I decided to play with something else and pretend it hadn't happened!!!
Beginning of the unsewing!!

Ah...fruity ladies always makes me feel better!!! Love this fabric. Off back to the sewing for a while! Bye!

Wool, wool and more wool!!

I was in the city on Tuesday and went to Lincraft...more on that later.. but outside in the arcade were all these balls of wool hanging, I was quite taken with the display!!

Last time I was here here were umbrellas hanging.

Frosty morning

Boy it was cold this morning - met Tania in the park at 8.15 for a  walk with the dogs and the grass was crunchy!!

Haven't seen a frozen dandelion before, mind you I am not out in the park at this time a lot! Lol!!

Surprises in the mail

Today I had to go to the PO to collect a parcel - and ended up with three - felt like it was Christmas!!
All the goodies!!

this was from Jessica a post crossing friend in The Netherlands, she wraps so beautifully!!!

and this is what she sent - a saucer with 3 crochet cupcakes, and 3 key rings, one a crochet ice cream, a crochet cupcake and an owl!! have I been spoilt!

The other parcels were from jenny in New Zealand, she has been to a quilt shop and has found treasures, the tea cup fabric she thinks could be a challenge for the Wednesday night group (like we have nothing to do!! Lol!!) Love this fabric!

and....9 fat quarters, love the batiks, and the Christmas fabric and the starie night fabric is beautiful too ...have something in mind for that...one day!!

Mmmmmm....Halloween fabric - Jenny would like something made up with this - table runner, cushion covers, wall hanging???? Maybe a long skinny table runner?

and two Xmas panels - Jen would like them made into something for her..something else to think on!

this one has glitter!!

the second parcel had a purple owl  lunchbox!! How cute is that??? And it was full on NZ made milk shake lollies....my favourite!!  Well I have to go and do some thinking and planning now and make myself finish what I am currently working on!! I am very, very lucky to have such great friends.

Saturday morning walk

Was quite nice to walk the dog this morning, a little sun peeking through after the rainy grey days

Blogger is not letting me upload pictures once again, I can't work out what I am doing wrong, gets frustrating!!!  Ahaa......Tracee has been and has worked her magic....well almost we haven't been able to work out all problems but have had some success!!

I like this old part of the park, love the old oak trees

I can imagine this driveway going to an old homestead, don't know that it ever did though.

Relaxing weekend

Had a lovely time at St Leonards this weekend, talked, drank, ate and watched TV and in-between did some crochet - 3 blankets finished for KOGO (Knit one Give one). This winter I am sewing together knitted squares in to blankets. The squares are sent to KOGO, wonderful fairies sort them and sew them together but sometimes they get over whelmed by the number of squares to be done so people like me help out. Also did a couple of scarves to help...all goes to the homeless or to new mums who don't have anything new for their baby, or many other deserving people.

Yesterday we called over to Port Arlington to get my friend Sylvia some mussels,( fav food) we had a wander along the wharf but it was cold and windy and spitty and there was a rain storm coming from Geelong direction.

As it happened there was a Celtic festival on this weekend and this ship was in and taking people out on the bay - not for me I am afraid, I was feeling sea sick just watching the boat heave up and down at the wharf!!!  We could have gone onto the boat for a look around but luckily (phew) it began to rain...so we walked back down the wharf and bought....

just over 1 kg of mussels! Had to ask how to cook them...water (just a little) wine, garlic and maybe chillies? Not a lot of that in the house but we had water and wine!! They cooked up really well and were very much enjoyed!!

Another completed blanket for KOGO, late night finish..hard to concentrate when watching Graham Norton!!!

Down the beach for a walk Tuesday morning, not so warm today but still lovely to be out by the beach and in the fresh air. Back to reality tomorrow!!

Mini quilt

Yesterday was get it finished day!!!
Stitcheries done and cut ready to sew to the centre,

prairie points cut, folded, and ironed and I only had one burned finger after that lot, not bad I thought!! Lol!!

Pinned on the prairie points, then had to take them off as I had pinned them back to front..duh!!! Then happily carried on, only to find I had pinned the other 3 sides the WRONG way!!!! Must be over tired!!

Finally got the prairie points on and the backing, did some basic quilting, all I can do at 8.30pm, then went and had a cuppa!! Phew. Tania at  Gisborne group challenged us to do a mini quilt and we had 5 weeks to get it done, great idea and it makes me get on with things, but need to get more organised and not cut thinks so fine!!!! I forget that sometimes life gets in the way and you don't get the time in the day you thought you were going to!! Trust DH to get his car serviced  yesterday!!!!
