FNWF

Last night I got together with TaniaTracee and Margaret at Marg's house for FNWF. We have decided to all make an Underground Railroad Sampler and thought getting together once a month would keep us motivated and MAKE us get on with it!! Plus for me, Marg has cooling at her house! Yay!! So we loaded up and hurried off to Marg's house! Tonight we are working on the Underground Railroad or Jacob's Ladder block......
Marg and I got right down to work!! Marg has a beautiful huge kitchen island bench which is perfect for cutting!
Every one is here and down to work!

Tracee concentrating....no time for a photo!!

Tania modelling the book of instructions!

Marg caught in between busy sewing!

Misty watching proceedings....

Jasmine not posing as I wanted but keeping an eye on me!

Well the blocks are all done and ready to be sewn together but they are different sizes and do not fit!!! Ahhhhh!!!!! Luckily Tracee came to the rescue and worked out that is we cut a little off here and a little off there we would be ok.........I have to say this is not my usual kid of sewing but I found the instructions in the book hard to understand....thank goodness we were working on this together, so there was a combined expertise pool to work it out!!

my finished block......

Tania's block coming along nicely....

Tracee's finished block......love the fabric......
Margs block......love the fabric too ......

SUPPER!!!! Don't we cater well for ourselves!!

all the finished blocks together.....

Tania's finished block......love the colours ....

Photo time!!

and on to the important time of the evening....supper!!
And then on to another important time in the evening...Tracee has been making shower caps you can see why here......so we found we became models late in the evening!! This is especially for Elyte!

Beautiful huh!!

Hard to remain serious though!!!
You can pop over here to super Cheryll's place to share some lemon slice and see what other people got up to on FNWF. Thank you Cheryll for hosting.
Happy sewing!

  8. I started the Underground Railroad sampler probably 5 years ago and it is still a UFO. I want to make it bigger which is why my progress halted when the shops BOM ended. Thank you for inspiring me to take a look at it again!

  9. Sounds like a fun night. I bought that book when I visited the US back in 2005 and it's still sitting on the shelf!
