FNWF

I hope all the people who joined FNWF's had a wonderful and productive evening. I had a lovely time with friends but a frustrating time with my sewing, came close to throwing in the towel especially when I had to unsew and got it all back together and still a block was wrong!!!! Ahhhhhhh!!! By then it was after 10pm and I just wasn't thinking straight and everyone else had finished!!! So it was home time!
Lots of little corners to cut off.

Tracee arrives, not to sew, sadly, as she had to pick her son up from work at 9pm, but with refreshments!

Happy sewers, Tania and Marg,

"Now, please remind me why we are doing this quilt?" "And, why are we making this block so big, only to cut it down?" "But why?" "Am I doing this right?"  "Which way?"  "I don't understand!" Conversation around the kitchen bench!! (Mainly from me I must add!) I can only report on the polite comments, and tell you that I used the words 'great hairy crocopiggies' many times, comes in handy when you want to swear but don't feel you should!! Lol!!

Tracee unsuccessfully hiding behind the fish tank! Teeehee,I can always get her in a photo in the end!! Here begins another, "But which way to I cut this?" conversation...

So Tracee took over, because by now we realised  I had made a mistake and in trying to fix it had, completely messed it up and so had to start from scratch again!!! Sob!!! "Great hairy crocopiggies!!!" Tracee cut new bits while I found some more fabric because as Murphy's law would have it, I didn't have enough of the original fabric!! Sigh!! Sob!!

Jasmine kept her cool and just watched!!

Marg and Tania sewed on...

Tania half way!!! Yay!!! Looking good!

Meanwhile I am back sewing new thingies, old thingies in the background, this time I measured them and trimmed them down to the correct size!!!!

Slowly going silly!!

Ready to throw in the towel and say that is, it no more!!!!! Why am I doing this!!

Marg calmly sews on and....

finishes her block! Beautiful!

Then before I know it Tania has finished her block, the brown has shown the red of her top in this photo so we tried again,

Beautiful!!
So I sewed on and on and ironed and sewed and finally finished, but,

wouldn't you know it!!! "Great hairy crocopiggies!!!!!" When you look at my block I have 3 Bear Paws and a FISH!!!! Where did that come from!!!!! Who put a FISH in my block?????  Oh well, time to head home and get some sleep.
Pop over to our lovely host Cheryll, and see what the other lovely people have been sewing.
I guess tomorrow I will be unsewing and trying again!! "Great Hairy Crocopiggies!"
Happy sewing everyone!!

  10. I like that block.... 3 bear paws and a fish!! ;o) I think you should patent it... it's very apt as bears catch fish with their paws. You are a genius!! I'd have ditched the coffee and gone for vino when things started going pear shaped... I find it helps... hic!! :o))

  12. At least you had a riotously fun night! :) Maybe the bear was hungry for fish and that's why he had to catch one.
