Celebration continues...

Well the sewing fest continues today - I have to admit I have turned off the sewing machine - my brain is fuzzed from calculating if this measures this, and that measures that, then I need this much plus seams to go in here!!!!! Sounds all good and reasonable but doesn't always work for me! Still I am very happy with what I have managed this weekend and send a huge thank you to chookyblue for the invitation to the party and for giving me the motivation to get this done! No sitting reading books this weekend!!
Today started with some relaxing binding stitching in bed with a cuppa....

then some company arrived......

and stayed for the duration!! I obviously need to be supervised regularly!!

Mmmmmmmm.....small problem here, there is a gap...ok I need Marina's mum now...my maths failed!!! So back to the drawing board...I also am not happy with the two green colours together...the supervisor was on hand to see what was being done! lol! But was absolutely no help in the maths dept!!

Ok! Problem solved for this time, I added the gray border and used it as fillers on the side where I had the maths fail.....

Supervisor seems to think all is ok!

And this is where I am finishing today, more tweaking and adjusting required...I think my brain might explode if I carry on!! Lol!~ Actually it covers the top of a queen size bed now and hangs over the edge about 4 inches, I was going to add another 14 inch border but I think it will be too big, so have to rethink that. Maybe tomorrow!!
Off to see how things are at the chookshed.
Happy sewing!

  4. Had mum on standby but it looks like you have done a wonderful job!
It looks fantastic. I think the supervisor did a great job on those maths problems. The added little border makes a great frame for the panel.
    A very productive weekend

  5. You might be late with this quilt but making tremendous progress now. The horses look like they are peering out of stables. Well done with all the problem solving. Does the supervisor want to be a horse?

  7. Heavens... you supervisor looked so small under the chair! Quilt maths are the bane of my life too. Measure twice... cut once... and still mess it up... that's me. Your quilt is coming together great... it's huge too! Is everything big at your house.....;o) Look forward to seeing how much bigger you make it.
