FNSI and Saturday

Well I wasn't hugely productive for FNSI but a little bit now and then adds up.....so I tell myself anyway...I managed to get two more flowers done despite pushing the blunt end of the needle in to my finger twice...I really have to try and wear a thimble again... you can see what the other FNSI'ers got up to over  at Wendy's...thank you Wendy for being our lovely hostess once again.
two to add to the collection!
Today I went along to my first meeting of the Geelong Patchwork and Quilting Guild....a bit nervously I must admit, but I was put on a table with a group of very nice ladies and came away feeling happy after my day out. The speaker was  Gail Macklin from Gails Patchwork Emporium and it was interesting hearing her talk about how her business started and grew and sadly burnt down and then started up again. She is an entertaining speaker.
There was show and tell, ,the show and tell quilts are hung on the walls and you fill in a form to give the President any information about it...and she then presents the quilt during show and tell...very different from what I am used to! Here are some of the show and tell quilts
this quilt is made with Arkansas Crossroad blocks...and was birthday block swap...love the colours in this...

a cathedral windows quilt.....liked this one too...

the middle quilt was an exercise in texture, the other two something to do with the Rajah quilt????  That could be wrong...I can't remember now what they were. So much information to take in today!!!
And this is what I managed to get done in the day....the centres were already done so I worked on getting all the little sides sewn together. I have had a good day out,  only got lost once so that is a bonus, have been told about two quilt shops I didn't know about, another bonus but now I have to go and organise some dinner...not sure that is a bonus!!! Lol!!
Happy sewing.
