Oh well...

I went off with high expectations this morning.....cabinet makers here, plumber here, tiler on the way.....all good.....cam home to find the plumber had done his thing.....the cabinet makers had pulled off two plaster walls.....NO TILER turned up!!!! Another one is coming for a LOOK on Saturday....I was crushed!! I should know better than getting my hopes up......so now I am feeling sad!! Oh well, I did have a lovely day out and got a fantastic surprise in the mail so will focus on that.
So I was driving along the road to Port Arlington this morning and saw this unusual sight....

..mmmmm...not sure if the tide came in too quick or this machine is made for working under water!! Lol!! Anyway when I came home it was gone....maybe something will be in the local paper??

Off to sewing group I went....and Linda showed us this beautiful quilt she has made...I have forgotten the name for the moment.....something Eclipse.......she bought the kit in the US...the circles are hand sewn, the rest is done on the machine.....

of course I LOVE the batiks....isn't it beautifully made...

this is a quilt Jill made for her son....two layer cakes.....has a soft backing and wool wadding....is so cuddly and warm.....she was off home this afternoon to sew on the binding...

..this arrived in the mail today...in a very official envelope from the defence Dept...the lady at the PO was concerned for me....she was quite worried until I showed her what was inside....

..photos of the front and back of the Centenary ANZAC quilt that was made by Aussie Hero volunteers, travelled the Middle East, was signed by some serving military personnel and then presented to the War Memorial in Canberra. I should say I made ONE poppy block.....

an accompanying letter....I am chuffed, what an amazing gesture...letter hand addressed and signed...I know there were a lot of people involved in the making of this...so these letters would have taken some time to get done.....very, very nice.....

and here is my rather little effort for today...too much chatting, walking down to the shops, and generally not sewing was going on!! lol!! I had a wonderful day, that was the main thing.
Happy sewing.
