Out and about again....

I have been back up to Gisborne on the weekend and went with Marg and Tania and Marina to the Sunbury Quilt in...it was a day of fun and laughter, lovely show and tell to look at and some shops to be tempted by!,
I stopped in Bacchus Marsh on the way through...I could smell smoke in the air so think this was smoke from peoples fires held down by the cold and boy it was cold!! I got back in the car quick smart!!
Show and tell...the same pattern done with three different colour ways.....

I think these were Globe trotting quilts...an on line project......

Isn't this amazing??

This quilt was made because the ladies son said he was getting engaged, and his girlfriend loved bright  pink, but as the quilt was finished they broke up.....no new girlfriend on the horizon as yet, but we all hope she likes pink!!!!

The speaker was Vicki Jenkin who is a machine quilter who makes the most beautiful quilts and does amazing quilting...

Loved this one made from an old tea cloth...with most of her quilts the quilting on the back was as amazing as it was on the front.

Here are the lovely ladies, Robyn, Elyte, Ann, miss hard to photograph Marina, Marina..the cooperative one lol, Tania, Gabby, Marg and Carol.

Hee hee got Miss Hard to Photograph!!

Oh boy, now look at her....eyes in the back of the head!!! Lol!! Well she does say  she sees all, so here is the proof!!! Lol!!      She actually said I captured her best side, but I didn't agree with that!

I was lucky to win two lucky number prizes, a pincushion, little purse, and an amazing cotton reel holder form one of the shops there on the day!! Very lucky I was.

On the was back into Geelong today I was following this ice cream van....after about 5 mins I noticed the number plate....the  I had to wait for the third set of lights to go red to get a photo!! Made me giggle!!

I went to a pincushion making class at the Geelong Club this afternoon....the mens club where women are not allowed even to this day.....there was a display by the Artisans of Geelong of things they had made to be displayed at the Johnson Collection in Melbourne.....there were some beautiful things, but I didn't get any photos...but I hope to get the pincushion finished tomorrow.
oh and I finished the stitchery I was working on and started another.....
Quite a productive weekend for me!! Right off to finish that pincushion!
Happy sewing.
