Sampler quilt...

...I have been sewing away this afternoon, and I must admit also unsewing when pieces didn't fit as they were supposed to!! I'm pleased though as I managed to finish two blocks
Amethyst......poor amethyst had a woops and I had to start again...
..I trimmed the seam and cut off the whole piece of fabric!!! Duh!!! No wonder this is taking me so much time!!

And have just finished Album 1.....very loud my DH says!! Nice but loud!!
Ah well, I like loud and I have a lot of batiks to be loud with!! Lol!!
Over at Fiona's you can see the blocks done in beautiful reproduction fabrics.....also Dzintra is sewing along and you can see the beautiful Civil War repro fabrics she is using on her blog.....thank you for the invite to sew along with you Fiona...I will be slower but there in spirit most days!!
Yesterday I came back through Geelong and stopped to take a photo, it was so nice to see the sun after the gray and wet and cold days we have had
as I was walking back to the car I noticed birds diving in to the water to get fish and then I saw something dark in the water too......I got a little excited as there was a pod of dolphins feeding along with the birds about 200 metres off the beach...I tried to take photos but not much success..
can you see a blurry dolphin fin out there??? They were splashing sometimes as they chased the fish....well had better head off and cook dinner...no cooking fairies here today so have to do it myself!!

Have a great evening!!

  6. isn't it always the way that the blocks that look "easy" are the hardest to do!!... they look great when they come right though x

  7. Beautiful sampler blocks - I love those fabrics. It seems like I frequently have to unstitch.
