The Great Unveiling Day! (Super photo heavy!!)

Today was the day the Shirt challenge and the Kaffe Fasset challenge were unveiled...we went to Margs place, everyone bought a plate or two for lunch and we had a wonderful time! Much fun and laughter!!
Marg decorated the table....

mmmm.....
Anette got into the Halloween theme...sadly I forgot!

..everyone settled in...

Anette showed us a quilt she was working on before she moved up to Ballarat...looks amazing..

this is my Kaffe Fasset attempt, a flimsy at present...for this challenge we had to choose a pattern from the Simple Shapes Spectacular Quilts book....

here are Anettes on the left and Marina's (Gisborne) on the right...same pattern made a different way...

a clearer view of Anettes quilt...

the viewing panel!! lol!! Marina, Robyn and Jo...

Tania's first attempt at the Kaffe Fasset challenge..she wasn't happy with it so began again...

this is how far she got with the tiles pattern...to be continued....

this is the Kaffe Fasset pattern using shirt fabric made by (Gisborne) Marina...

this is Donna's Kaffe Fasset quilt....she is about to launch into hand quilting after hand sewing this amazing creation....

here they all are on display..

Marg has her blocks started but not yet joined together...

the book we worked from
then came the Great Shirt Challenge...the challenge was to buy 6 mens cotton shirts from an op shop cut them into 6 pieces, they were then gathered and divided by the number of people participating..
Jasmine found a comfy place to sit...

Marg showed us her letter in a bottle quilt she has recently finished...another spectacular quilt...

this is Marinas shirt challenge quilt (Gisborne Marina)

Tania has started with her challenge quilt, it was going to be this size, but now Tania has decided to make it bigger...love those Dresden plates..

here is Anettes Shirt challenge quilt that she had to get back from her son...as it is already in use..love the pocket in the middle....

here is Margs amazing quilt, it was supposed to stop before the first white border, but Marg felt it needed to continue....isn't it beautiful...

here is Helen's quilt..how good is that??

and mine, I am hoping it will go to the Melbourne Zoo for one of the orangutans...pockets are for treats...

Robyn has started on hers, a double wedding quilt I think if I remember correctly...someone please correct me if I am wrong.....I am hoping you, dear reader haven't gone to sleep by now!!!

here is Marina's (City Girls) quilt....made from her Dad's and Grandad's shirts..how wonderful is that...so many memories...

and the collection! I am amazed that they are all so different....so much beautiful work....

and here we all are.....thank you Ladies for a wonderful day, and Marg thank you for hosting us at your beautiful house.
On the way home I called in at Tracee's to see her new babies...who have grown a huge amount in the last couple of weeks

Isn't she beautiful...the boy puppy was too busy looking around so just got the girl...look at that face!!
Well hopefully I haven't put you completely to sleep....
happy sewing!
