Out and about

Today hubby had lots of visitors so I took the opportunity to have a day out. But first I have to show you, I finished the baubles row for the row by row Christmas quilt
combined baubles and Santas in the one row!! Hee hee!! Sorry for the photo, I decided to take it after dark!!

Last night I made another Sylvia's bridal Sampler block...have had a long break from working on this one..this is....Irish Chain.
I have been in to Geelong today to have a look at the new library, it is quite an impressive building
Here is the building from the back...

I had to take a photo here...these are the tiles on the walls of the public toilets next to the library!! Pretty posh huh!!!!

here is the library from nearly the front..I enjoyed mooching around in there and came home with many books and DVD's...they have a separate floor for children with great low tables and chairs and cushions and toys...and it doesn't matter how much noise they make!!
I got some lunch and did some shopping in the shopping centre and then went off to the Botanic Gardens to do the 2pm Sound tour!!! I wondered what a sound tour was and soon found out, it was one we couldn't speak and had to listen to sounds around us...very challenging to two ladies who came along!! Lol!!
lots of beautiful trees

and a beautiful flowering plant with busy bees...

a vege garden used for the Gardens in Schools programme...the excess veges are given to local charities...some plants are let to go to seed so the children can see how the plant cycle happens.

very pretty flower

love this sculpture down the back of the gardens..

this is a new seat put in at the rear of the gardens and here is some great coloured fungus growing on the back!

More beautiful flowers..

and this amazing sequoia that is many years old!! Ok are you asleep now??? Lol!!!
I think I will go sit on the couch and do some knitting now and maybe watch the Eurovision song contest, still getting my head around Australia being included!!! We are a long way from Europe here!!
Happy sewing.
