Yesterday

I headed off in the morning, dropped hubby at the South Geelong train station, so he could head off to the city to the footie, then happened to pass the Kaisercraft shop, so thought I had better go in for an explore!! They have fantastic discount bins where most things are $2 - $5. Of course I came out with goodies!!
I have a tub full of lovely bits for adding to journals or scrapbooks

these little easels  would look good with a little Christmas stitchery on them, maybe?

and some stamps and pre cut shapes...stamps I must confess are my weakness, along with fabric and books....best not go there!!!
We had the Geelong Patchwork and Quilt Guild meeting yesterday, I met up with Tracee, Marg and Donna, who had come down from Gisborne and there was some amazing show and tell I didn't get photos of everything but here are a few..the days theme was Mothers Day
this quilt was made with family photos incorporated into it

well you can guess why I liked this!!

the quilt was made from a pack bought while on holiday in NZ.The outer border fabric is amazing, like balls of twine end on!

scrappy stars over the other side of the hall

I really liked the colours in this quilt, made form a jelly roll.
We had a couple of members talk to us regarding their mothers, Ene talked about being evacuated from Estonia to Germany, then Germany to Australia and the changes in her and her mother's life. She also showed us some of the beautiful stitching her mother used to do.
Another lady read us a list of what to do when her mother had written for the grandmother I think, when she was in hospital and the grandmother came to look after the baby and two small girls. it was very entertaining.
I am supposed to be being a hermit and sewing, sewing today but it is a beautiful sunny day so I have done 2 loads of washing, packed two boxes, had a cuppa and cake with some visitors, made lunch, now I am off to be a hermit!! (Easier said than done!!)
Happy sewing.
