EPP link up and FNWF

Isn't it amazing the difference a day can make!
Out for a walk yesterday morning

another beautiful sunrise,

the Supervisor giving me the hurry up!!

But today it is overcast and gray

we still, had a good walk though..

poking around in the garden I see a dwarf magnolia is having it's first every flower!!  Will have to keep an eye on that. :-)

The Aussie Hero quilt is ready to go...front,

and back,
I am linking up with Anthea of Hibiscus Stitches for the monthly celebration of all things EPP

some black hexies to go on the hexie quilt

and the strips for the sides are slowly growing.
It is also time to sign up for Friday Night with Friends over at Cheryll's place
a great evening of sewing with virtual friends from all over.
The weather has packed up here this afternoon, we have heavy rain and gusty winds, good for sitting and sewing, and that is what I am off to do!
Happy sewing.

Today

the Supervisor and I have had a walk this morning, early!!!
It was very calm and peaceful wandering along the beach front.
I went to Seachange quilters for sewing and chatting today, sometimes more chatting than sewing!! On the way home I stopped at Ocean Grove for a chai and a look at the beach..I was going to go for a wander along the beach but the tide was high and there were some clouds coming over so I sat and watched and listened instead.

Wonderful!  Love the sound of the surf.

a panoramic view of the beach

some random tourist!!!! Lol!! Nothing like a forced, when will the camera take that photo smile!!!

this group went in for a swim and screamed and squealed for a good ten minutes!! I admired them for even just getting wet, but not for the noise they were making!!It was 15 deg C today but still very cold for swimming.

Lots of surfers out today.
Back home...

Last night I sewed the binding on the Santa wall hanging, have gone for white and green spots.

Today I have been sewing away on the Minerva applique from the Irene Blanck class I did, mostly the bias strips and the large circles on the blue flowers and the tiny circles. Once I get the stems done I will attempt the leaves!

Chilly Monday

We, the supervisor and I have been for a walk, I had hoped he would help me do some geocaching, you know sniff around some trees or bushes, so I didn't look so obvious looking under trees and bushes, but no, he preferred to do his own thing. In the end I had to tie him up too the table.....not happy with that idea at all!!!
and I am not looking at the camera!!

No not even once!! Lol!!
is spitty raining and cool this morning

these photos are back to front but you can see the Aussie hero quilt is done, all the unsewing has been repaired, has been trimmed and the binding put on, I started the hand sewing last night. It is very busy but filled with Australia things, so I hope the recipient likes it!!

I have finished the free range quilting on Santa, need to finish in all the endy bits now and get some binding sorted.
But now I am off to water aerobics! Boy I hope the water in the pool is HOT!!!!
Happy sewing.

Saturday

The supervisor and I went for a walk today down to and around the lagoon and spied this handsome pelican there

back home I attached a few more black hexies

then I finished the New York Beauty blocks, my inside curves are still a bit wonky but I am happy with them,

last night I made covered some more hexies while watching the Woman in the Van, quite a good movie.

It was very peaceful here this afternoon

there must have been fish in close and while I was looking

the sun started to go down

and we have a calm peaceful evening.
I am off inside again, out of the cold to do some more unsewing on the Aussie Hero block that has been sadly neglected!
Happy sewing.

Catching up...

We have wandered our way back from South Australia over two days, we stopped and found a few geocaches, much to hubbies dismay!! Lol!! Good for him I told him, a chance to get out of the car!!
This beautiful old pub was in Pinaroo,

we stopped in at Ouyen and had a look at the hospital, this was where David was born...has changed greatly we are told, not that David remembers!! Lol!!

this quilt was just inside the main door,

this was looking down the main street of Ouyen...there was a storm coming!!

this school is very changed but this was where Davids father taught way back in 1955/56!!
We stayed overnight at Sea Lake, we found an old pub and boy it was an old pub, I have always wanted to stay in an old country pub with the upstairs verandah, but maybe better to do that in the summer, it was freezing!!! We had a small heater in our room but still ended up in bed at 8pm to try and get warm!!!

this was the sunset from the verandah

fading a bit now

last one, is very cold out here!!

this was a beautiful old house in Inglewood
I did manage to do some sewing
some single hexies and another row ready to sew on to the main quilt.
Today I have been to a class with some ladies from the guild.....we learned how to do Nuno felting....that was a challenge for the hands and arms I can tell you!!
Well I wanted to add photos from today but blogger will not let me, so will try again another day.
Had better go organise some dinner
Happy sewing.
