Some of Julie's beautiful quilts she brought along to show us...all hand quilted and applique by hand too.
Isn't the detail amazing??
Class in action.
Julie showing us the rocking method
another of her beautiful applique and hand quilted quilts.
This is a shocking photo but this was my effort by the end of the class. We had to do a lot of quilting and then pulling out as we practiced in the morning. I was tired by the end of the class, there was so much to absorb!
Last night I was playing cut outs with these little people, I have one more to do, then they get ironed onto the centre of a quilt...yes I now I do not need another project to do!!! They are from the Freya and friends book.
But I was able to watch the
win the Bledisloe Cup, it was a nail biter there for a while, the cutting out was forgotten!!
The Supervisor and I went for a walk this morning despite the wind and rain and down in the park found these
Freesias growing wild. This is a sign to me that Spring is not far away! the perfume is already filling the house!!
I am off now to have some lunch and to get sewing.
Happy sewing and weekend.
The close up of the hand quilting is stunning! Your little folk sure are cute. My Freesia's are out too and what a fabulous perfume. Happy Sunday evening to you.

ReplyDeleteWoohoo! Free freesias. I can smell them from here. Julie's work is beautiful. I have met her a couple of times. She is such a lovely lady. My favourite of hers is the paisley quilt. I want to replicate that one day. Another quilt on my endless list of to dos.
ReplyDeleteI did a hand quilting class with Julie many years ago. I was very impressed with what I achieved. Julie does the most amazing quilting.
