Life

has been a little busy the past few days, we have had family staying, people visiting and there have been sewing days. The AFL Grand final was on last Saturday and the Tigers are hubby's team .....he was nervous but so happy when they won. He hasn't stopped giggling yet!!
The girls left them too it and went off to Queenscliff to have a wander around the shops, I found this tin
which is perfect for keeping all the stars in one place

love the sayings on the sides. This was probably someones best cake or sponge tin at some stage!
Monday was sewing day at the Bellarine Quilters
here is Sue's beautiful Kaffe Fasset quilt, with a twist by Sue! Looks amazing!

Laurie was working on these beautiful fussy cut hexies.

Margaret has finished her row by row challenge quilt.

a quilt for others by Barbara I think

these are two more of Barbara's, interesting how the quilts are the same pattern but look so different , Barbara has been using up her strip scraps.
The Aussie hero Quilt is coming along well

just a few more ends of cotton to finish in and the label to write. (And maybe an iron!!;-)  )
Today was sewing day at Seachange, Pam and I were helping Bronwyn quilt her quilt!
Bronwyn spent hours using the accugocutter (is that the right name??) cutting 2 inch squares, then laying them on a backing, and sewing them all together, her colour placement is beautiful.
One of the ladies there made this beautiful sloth

for another ladies son! How cute is that!!
And yesterday I made this block which will go to Karen, she has asked for these dog blocks to go into a wall hanging, quilt, place mats etc to fund raise for agencies who have taken in animals after the recent disaster in the southern parts of the US.

What ever Karen makes will be auctioned off to fun raise. You can see some more of these blocks over at BubzRugzFiona has made three beautiful blocks for Karen, and Maria of Life on the Block has done the same.
I only had to do a little unsewing and that was because I didn't read the instructions properly!! I have another block cut and ready to sew, so plan to do that after dinner.
Happy sewing.

  1. Lovely tin, it looks small, but if you say someone used it to put their sponge cake in then it must be bigger than it looks. Fabulous quilts. The one you girls are quilting looks interesting. happy creating!
