We took one afternoon off and went for a walk around the base walking track at Mount Maunganui...it is a beautiful place. You start at Pilot Bay
This is the calm side
Then you walk around where the harbour entrance is
A tourist posed happily!! Behind him is part of Matakana Island.
We had to go up several steps and down ghe other side as the path has been washed out in a storm.
The pohutukawa tree was still in flower.
Two boats were heading out to do some deep sea fishing
The ocean was rolling in on the rocks
We came around to the surf beach at Mount Maunganui..there was a beach volley ball competition happening and lots of bodies out surfing.
We wandered back to the car and headed home to do more sorting.
A little sewing of circles has happened but not a lot, they are packed in my bag so I will do a photo next post.
Oh Sue, a big trip in so many ways, no doubt you will be glad to be home for a rest. Safe travels.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos. I can't imagine how difficult it was to sort and clean out your mother's home. What a good daughter you are!
ReplyDeleteBeautifully place Sue. Such a huge undertaking for you. Enjoy your down time xx
ReplyDeleteNot the easiest of trips but the beautiful landscape and catching up with Jenny would have been lovely. Xxx

ReplyDeleteglad to see you have had some time to breath x Good luck with getting it all sorted x
ReplyDeleteLovely photos Sue, oh yes it's a big job that's for sure, I can only imagine 65 years of items accumulating. We did my Father-in-Laws place in June of 2015 and that was after 56 years and that took 6 of us 3-1/2 days.. It's a huge job.
ReplyDeleteSo glad it's been a great trip Sue!
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful photos Sue - so good that you were able to switch off and have a walk from time to time.
