Gisborne and Quilt Fair - super photo heavy

I went up to Gisborne on Wednesday and caught up with the Gisborne Girls, then had a sit and sew at the Owlery
The next morning

the kangaroos were in the next paddock

Mum and Bub

I had forgotten how cold it gets in Gisborne..the windows were all frozen over in the morning

a watering can of water and the heating on full bore got things going.

I did get the applique all done on the hexies while at the Owlery

the Supervisor has given it the once over!
Thursday morning Donna, Marg and I went on the train into the city for the Craft Fair
These animals were on the Toft stand

Many beautiful crochet animals. They released a blue heeler for this show.
Then I went off to the quilt show...

These quilts were all part of the challenge  Borders and Bridges

This is by Susan DeVanny, from photos she has taken,

So many beautiful quilts and ideas!
Then on to the Vic Quilters display

Bad photo here but loved the used of doilies and jeans pockets

Not a good photo either, but another by Susan DeVanny, which won Best Art Quilt.

Beautiful quilt by Yetty, from Seachange Quilters.

loved this quilt of circles..I think it was called a Circle a Day

the fussy cutting was lovely

General views

Still awake and with me???
I did do some purchasing, but will share that tomorrow.
Happy sewing.

I am also linking up with Whimsandfancies to explore photography, in the garden, places we go etc.

  7. Wow. Stunning quilts. Although I am not a quilter, I admire the talent, especially since I have a sister and sister-in-law who quilt and I have some idea of the process. Anyway, I think my favorite in the 'bridge' section is the hands forming the bridge - couldn't we use a little more of that in the world today?

  12. Always very inspiring to see a quilt show. They are all beautiful. I liked the one with the jeans and doilies. Something different! Well, here we don't have any ice, and at the moment we have a lot of heat!
