Finally some sewing

Yesterday was the final sit and sew at the Bellarine Quilters for the year and as I didn't have any hand sewing I pulled out this much neglected block and button hole stitched around the horses. The plan today is to do the brown pieces. This block is from the Farm Yard Frolics BOM from 2013!
I also began a quilt for Victor the cat, who lives with my son and his partner

Very simple, stippled and ready for some binding.

the supervisor and I went for a walk this morning , I love the glimpses of sea through the trees.

we were followed along the beach bu a willy wag tail, I guess the Supervisor was disturbing insects and things for the bird to eat. The Supervisor was blissfully unaware, just sniffing and weeing on anything vertical!!

a family of galahs were feeding on the grass
a magpie came by and scared them all away, I think they might have been too close to the magpies tree.

I brought the Supervisor home and then went for a short bike ride, luckily the rain that was threatening didn't happen.

I spent Sunday in the sewing room, making a t-shirt dress. It took me ages to get the fabric to fit to the T-shirt, the the iron on stabiliser wouldn't iron on to the t-shirt or anything else for that matter!! Eventually it worked out, hubby says I look like a blimp but the dress is comfy to wear. If I make another one I would put less fabric in the skirt part I think and get a softer fabric for a better drape, this fabric is a bit stiff even after a wash.  It was a learning experience for me!
I am off now to do some binding before lunch hopefully.
Happy stitching,

  8. I like the idea of the t-shirt dress. I hope you thanked him for his sweet compliment. LOL Oh, I didn't realize the horse block was hand done. Now it's even cuter! I love that you are working on something from 2013. Way to go! Thanks for the bird pics, too.
