Grand Day Out.

I feel a bit like this post should be about Wallace and Gromit with a heading like that!!
But I can assure you Jill and I did not go to the moon!!
We went to Mornington to see the Stitch Fest quilt show. The show was wonderful, the people we met lovely, there were lots of wonderful shops....mmmm. But I will show you a few of the quilts in show
waiting to board the ferry, there was a strong northerly wind blowing and so the crossing was not very calm! We were both a little green when we got off at the other end!!

my view from the front of the ferry. We got off the ferry at Sorrento then had about a 35 minute drive to Mornington.
But on to the good stuff...

I have this pattern, might be inspired to actually make it now!!

This quilt is stunning.

as is this one.

The panel came from Townsville, this was one of my favourites. Love the beach feel, the birds and the quilting was amazing.

this was also stunning.

This info belongs to the quilt below, as I have written letters all my life and miss receiving letter my parents used to write to me. Love getting mail in the box sometimes though.

There were several quilts on display featuring one of the groups members, this quilt was beautiful and had so much work in it! Detail below.

Leaves and flowers from the side of the quilt

Ivy leaf detail

beautiful detailed little birds.

So many beautiful quilts, it was overwhelming.
We did a little shopping, had a cuppa and cake and then headed home.

A huge container ship we passed on the way.

A change in the weather is coming from the west! Fortunately we got home ok, the water was calmer and the rain didn't come until I was well home.
All in all a grand day out.
