Janice put her blocks up on the design wall, they are looking great! I have forgotten the name of this project, but I do remember a lot of people have been sewing it!!
Susan showed lots of beautiful work
The Brisbane girls did a challenge, it is always interesting to see how the different colours chosen make the quilt look so different.
Susan's version of Michelle's Christmas quilt.
A beautiful quilt for a grandson, the white hexies had Winnie the Pooh on them.
I think this was another quilt Janice made.
Saturday evening we got chucked out of the sewing room and were told to go and get glammed up and put on some bling! Well glam and me are really not compatible but between Raewyn and myself we came up with this
Luckily for me Raewyn had a spare skirt, which looked heaps better than my shorts, and a sparkly top!
The table looked wonderful!
Raewyn, Chooky and myself ready for dinner! We had a great evening, lots of fun and laughter.
Sunday we went for a visit to the local CWA building, it was a sobering visit. The local ladies have set up a food pantry to help the farmers who have been in drought for a very long time.
Some of the sewing girls bought groceries to donate, so we went and helped sort them into their correct places on the tables.
Sorting the boxes
sorting and looking around, the Food Pantry had a letter from Prince Charles commending them on their work.
Information out the front of the pantry.
It was a sobering visit and made me realise what and easy life I have and how valuable our farmers are.
A couple of links
Hopefully this will work, Chooky's Mum.
Looking down the main street of Baradine.
One more post to come but the Supervisor is waiting!!

Great round up....Janice's blocks are Splendid Sampler 2.
ReplyDeleteI always like to see the show and tell! Good for you, helping the food pantry. I sometimes take for granted how easy I have things.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful show and tell and lovely blingy ladies. Looked like good fun. It was great to see where our donations are helping. What awesome people helping their community. We would all be in dire straits without our farmers xx
ReplyDeleteMore amazing quilts. That green and white hexi one is quite striking.
ReplyDeleteThey sure do need our support.
ReplyDeleteLooks like lots of fun. xx
ReplyDeleteI do love show and tell.........always very different and inspiring........
ReplyDeleteSparkle and bling our special dinner was lots of fun once again......and your shorts would have been fine......
Wonderful show & tell Sue. I loved you girls in your "bling". How funny! Gosh that food pantry certainly was sobering ... look at the number of farming families they are supporting. Very sad to know so many are struggling.
ReplyDeleteYou all look lovely. Thanks for posting all the projects. I really like the blocks on the wall at the beginning. I had no idea the drought had gone on so long! Thank goodness for people's generosity. I hope it breaks soon, though you are in harvest time now, so there probably is no saving anything for this year. I hope the coming year will be wet, but not TOO wet. We all depend on the farmers.
ReplyDeleteSuch a fabulous retreat with great show and tell and a special dinner.
ReplyDeleteIts good to see folk get together to help all the farmers who are doing it tough.
