I have been around the garden this morning and filled the birdbaths
this one is a bit dirty but the birds don't seem to mind!
this one was emptied yesterday by a raven having a bath,
and this one had bread dumped in it, the birds have been giving it a soak before eating.
Breakfast was on the back deck this morning after I came back from a walk.
the horse quit is finished and delivered to Belinda at the Oncology centre. She loved it!! (Phew)
This is the back of a quilt made by Ingrid
and this is the front. This quilt was given to a new oncology patient yesterday. He is from New York State in the US, Ingrid's favourite place in the US is New York State! The patients wife is from the UK, they both love a white Christmas. The autumnal leaves around the quilt remind them of the patients home, could not have wished for a better match!! There were lots of tears all round !!
Santa was in residence in the shopping centre, his bell was ringing while I was having some lunch
must have been a quiet morning.
I called into Lizzies Quilt shop with this pattern and the charm squares, and found the yellow and green fabric in the $5.00 sale section. Bargain, all I need for the quilt for $15.00.
But first I need to get into the sewing room and ......yep.....tidy!!
Happy stitching.
I do not envy your high temperatures, my daughter who is in south Australia has been having horribly high temps....
ReplyDeleteLovely team work from you and Ingrid. I love the Kiwi on the candy cane.....
Your garden looks so pretty, the birds must be happy there. Love the quilts, and that you give them to oncology patients, just fantastic. Have a great Friday, hugs, Valerie

The horse quilt turned out great and lovely the other one went to someone who will find a special meaning to it.
ReplyDeleteGreat Christmas photos and your garden is lovely
Very thankful birdies I am sure! Lovely gifts for the oncology ward and it would have brightened up their day xx
ReplyDeleteThat is HOT! Birds will certainly appreciate the water. I hope the visit to the beach was cool. The quilts are so lovely! Santa looks very festive under the tree :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Holidays!

The weather has been so hot. I wonder how the birds get on finding worms and bugs. We also leave out water for them. I'm glad both of the quilts were gratefully received. They sound like a good match for the recipients. Good luck finding your sewing room and then getting on with some sewing.
ReplyDeleteMERRY CHRISTMAS Chick. Have a very happy festive season.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lot of lovely, photos. I loved seeing your quilts AND your birdbaths!
