Yesterday Maria and I went up to Bacchus Marsh to attend the Quilt In there, the speaker was Leesa Chandler, there were lots of pop up shops, I got to catch up with Tracee and most of the City Girls, Marina unfortunately couldn't come but she was there in spirit 😀
Well blogger has reversed all my photos for some reason, one of the Thought Bubble blocks, slowly progressing
another Thought Bubble block
Leesa Chandler and one of her quilts, her talk about producing her fabric line was very interesting.
Marina went with Elyte to make a cuppa
She had a chat with Barb
did some fabric shopping
enjoyed some chocolate, she had a busy day actually!! 😂
I did get an almost group photo, but the ladies were all listening and looking to the stage. Not good timing on my part!
a beautiful quilt seen during show and tell.
Some serious looking conversation happening with Robyn and Maria.
The quilt covered car out the front - once we saw this we knew we were in the right place. We had a great day and managed to get in and out of the car between rain showers.
I am progressing with the Aussie hero Quilt, the pieces are all pinned in place, it has been sandwiched and it currently being quilted. I am attaching the pieces using free range quilting, so the attaching and quilting happens at the same time. I like the way the body pieces puff up as you sew them.
I had better be off and do some more on the panda.
Happy stitching.
What a fun day! It looks so normal. I miss those kind of events. Great panda quilt!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous day out with the girls and nice you took Marina along too!
ReplyDeleteHave fun attaching the Panda.
Is that squirrel 🐿 visiting you ?
Looks like a fun day out. xx
ReplyDeleteI love how you included Marina in your photos. Glad you all had a great day, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun day, so glad that Marina enjoyed it with you!!
ReplyDeleteOMG! Barb was there! We were blogger mates for several years and we managed to meet up few times. We lost touch recently. Lisa Chandler had a shop in Mentone I think. She had beautiful Japanese fabrics. That was eons ago lol. I love your thought bubbles, especially the bunny. Looks like it was a fun day. I think I will try emailing Barb again now.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great day out.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun day out... so glad Marina could make it in spirit (you had me laughing there). Love the thought bubbles you have happening and the panda looks so good. I have done attaching/quilting at the same time too...

ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful outing Sue - love the quilt covered car! That would've been a good landmark. You girls make me laugh with the photo of your friend on a stick & you took her everywhere!! Such fun & enjoyment.

ReplyDeleteOh wow Sue. I could have dropped by to say hi as we were around that area driving about. From Gisborne to Balkan and Ballarat and back to Kyneton. I’m sure you enjoyed your day.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great day out you all had - even Marina
ReplyDeleteSue - how wonderful that you get such quality time with your quilting buddies, and the opportunity to learn from experts! Enjoy the rest of August!
