Finns quilt is finished and he now has it to play on, he likes both the front and back
so much colour and things to look at.
I have been working on a pincushion from a kit I got from Bittern by the Bug recently, the owner of the business is coming to the Guild to talk to us next year, she imports vintage Japanese fabrics.
A slightly better photo this time π
and the top
it has felted wool top and bottom
My quarter inch hexies have gone from
this
to
this.
At Bellarine Quilters we were challenged to make a name tag to be shown at our Christmas lunch.
Turns out only four of us have made one so it has been cancelled π
Oh well four of us still get to have new name tags I guess.I am off to get some breakfast, maybe do some gardening or maybe start on an Aussie Hero quilt, or do some more quilting on the Red Tractor fabric or another project that needs quilting - so many choices!!!
Have a good weekend and happy stitching.
Finns quilt is just stunning Sue - he will find so much to look at in it. How special. ππ
ReplyDeleteI love the Japanese flavour of the pincushion - its different & appealing. I find it kind of sad when not everyone takes part in challenges - we have the same thing with our craft group, only 2 of us did the catfood tin challenge (me & 1 other). It kind of makes you think why do we bother. Have a great weekend Sue - its pouring down here but the garden is lapping it up. xx
I’m sure Finn will enjoy his quilt for a very long time. There is so much for him to look at. Good job.
ReplyDeleteFinn’s quilt is fabulous and so big. Lots of play will happen there. I love your pincushion. What a shame about your name tag challenge, but as you say, you have a new name tag. It is so detailed. I love it.
ReplyDeleteFinn's quilt is incredible! I just want to stare at it!
ReplyDeleteThat is a fun pincushion.
That was a lot of work on that nametag to have the whole thing get canceled!!
I hadn't realised how big that playmat would be! It is stunning. Great pincushion and very smart name bade, shame there were only a few of you took part. xx
ReplyDeleteFinn's quilt is fabulous, Sue. All those Aussie animals will keep him fascinated and entertained for hours. Your pin cushion is pretty and your name tag is a fancy one. Sure beats boring cardboard ones. I imagine stitching those teeny hexies would've been tricky??
ReplyDeleteThose little hexies look so fiddly but turned out so well!!
ReplyDeleteWow! Finn’s quilt is a jungle! I understand why he loves it.
ReplyDeleteI love Finns quilt. It is huge! Cute badge and those Japanese fabrics are pretty. Hmm, so many things to do, I wonder which you will chose?
ReplyDeleteHow gorgeous is Finn's quilt (and huge!) I have noticed here much less interest in challenges and group makes...

Such a fantastic quilt you’ve made for Finn.
ReplyDeleteGreat pincushion from the Japanese fabrics.
Lovely badge from the tiny hexies.

What a huge quilt - I had seen that panel and almost bought it - but a tad too big for what I was after. Shame about the name badge idea. Lovely Japanese bag.
ReplyDeleteFinns quilt looks great! It's a very nice size too. So sorry to hear that your lunch got cancelled. I hope you can repurpose those hexies or use the name tag for other occasions.

I’ve just caught up reading all of your blogs so I can’t comment on all of them. The rainforest quilt is a great idea for naming all the wildlife. I always love seeing the dogs and all of the charity quilts you do .
ReplyDeleteThe comment that says I’ve just read too many blogs to comment is from Jenny at birdontheborder
ReplyDeleteSue - Finns quilt is HUGE! Wow - it's like having a whole jungle to explore! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
