Walking again..

Today I got the bus to Chichester and then walked the Lipchis canal walk to the Chichester Basin...it is about 4 miles there and the same back....there are caches all along the way...was also busy with runners, cyclists, walkers and dog walkers.
I had my first and only I hope run in with nettles....they pack a punch let me tell you!!!!

Chichester Marina....boat club....and cafe (below) where I was told to get a table number if I wanted food as they did not do take away and had to have a table number to bring the food to....so dutifully I went and got a number!!!

the do what you are told cafe...

yacht passing through the lock to the harbour...

track was right next to the beach....

there were lots of historical and general signs telling you abouth the wildlife etc...this one was about a runway that was here in WW2, no sign of  it now, just a farmers paddock.

there was supposed to be a cache here, by the 45 deg fence posts, but it looked as though there was hay stacked by the fence and the whole lot had burned, was still smoking when I walked past...
loved this little place on the edge of the pathway...

following the track...

glimpses of the water...

end of the wooded area...now out into the fields...

I am being watched......

I came across this lovely church, there were ladies inside doing the church flowers, masses of them, as tomorrow is Harvest festival...it looked wonderful.
I came out nearly on the ring road here so one of the flower ladies suggested I get the 700 bus...would be safer for me, as my feet were sore I agreed and hopped on when it came along...was a big blue double decker.....that took me back into Chichester. ....so I could have a quick look at the cathedral...
this place was just outside the cathedral..

such a beautiful sky today....you can see the spire from all around the countryside...

inside....beautiful tapestry...

looking to the front....

remains of Roman mosaic under the floor...

most beautiful stained glass window.
I am off to get the bus back to  Selsy now. ..due for a refreshing drink!!
