The request was for desert colours, the flag and the embroidered pieces. Hubby told me as I showed him the FINISHED quilt that I should have cut the top off the flag, that there was too much blue. MY reply was not very polite sad to say!! Plus it was too late to do anything!!
After some sewing and unsewing, repeat, and try again, this block is done. This will go in a raffle quilt the Bellarine Quilters will be having at their quilt show later this year. It is just on 12 and a half inches, so Sandi who is putting it all together will decide if it is ok to go in the quilt.
I have made another 19 blocks to go to Jan Mac for her quilts for the fire victims. I think I am finished making them but them who knows, I might get the urge to make some more! I like how they come out.
I had a walk down to the boat jetty this morning, only two pelicans there at the same time as me,
then I walked around the lagoon, lots of ducks, more pelicans and five swans. Two were obviously pairs, one kept on being driven away by the others. Was a bit sad to see.
These two were chattering away up in a gum tree, sounded like they were having an involved conversation, then as I took the photo I realised it was a Mum and young, the young one having a feed. Three of them flew away fairly soon after I took the photo, so Dad must have been on the look out somewhere in the tree. They might be rainbow lorikeets but I am not sure.
I had better get off and finish the list I started yesterday.
Happy stitching.
