This last week has flown by, the sewing groups I go to have all started up again, combine that with swimming twice a week , life seems very busy and always somewhere to go, which is a wonderful thing, but sometimes I just like to be at home. I wonder if that is a hangover from COVID I have slowed down and kept busy at home and am happy to keep doing so! Sounds very anti social doesn't it!!
This week
One more Schoolgirl Sampler block
The top three rows joined on to the middle section
More SGS blocks
One more for Anthology, not quite right but I am happy with it.
I started another block but that ended up in the bin it just just wouldn't cooperate 😀
One block for Sylvia's Bridal Sampler, this one with the dreaded y seams.
The blocks and below are this months blocks for the Guild Mystery quilt, I have no idea how these are going to go together so it is a bit hard to choose colours. I guess it will work out as the months go by.
Two more blocks for the Schoolgirl Sampler
Last Sunday the sun came out after a really wet Saturday so I went out on the front deck and pinned one of Fiona's quilt tops.
And here it is finished. This quilt will go to the Oncology ward once I can deliver there again. Thank you Fiona, it is a beautiful quilt.
I am off now to pin another quilt I think, but first I have to cut the backing and wadding so some crawling around the floor will happen first.
Happy stitching.
Fiona's quilt is lovely! Someone is going to enjoy it for sure. I loooooooove the SGS blocks and it looks beautiful pieced at this stage. Stunning! Your colours all go beautifully together. Gee, I must be a very anti social person because I have nowhere to go these days. The highlight of each week is seeing my grandsons and grocery shopping lol. At least I have plenty of time to sew. All your different projects are lovely and I don't know how you achieve so much. Well done!
ReplyDeleteYour schoolgirl blocks are absolutely fabulous! What a wonderful quilt.
ReplyDeleteThe quilt enroute to the oncology ward is so pretty. I rather love to stay home a lot, so Covid restrictions weren't really difficult for me. Schoolgirl Sampler is looking fabulous. Yikes...the dreaded Y seam..not fun at all.
ReplyDeletewow you have been busy!
ReplyDeleteI think that everyone is a bit reluctant to get into to much socializing at the moment...people are still very wary, I know I am...and home is my haven!
Absolutely fabulous! Know what you mean about it being hard to get back into the swing of things!cHugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteWell, despite all that socialising you have still managed to produce a lot this week. I am enjoying being at home too - I dont suppose we shall go back to quite so much socialising for some time. Fiona's quilt has finished up nicely and will be a lovely gift for the oncology dept. xx
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about life getting busy again, staying home seems nice. The SGS quilt is growing beautifully. the quilt headed for the oncology ward will be well appreciated I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteI can really relate to enjoy just being home , I do think it’s a COVID thing. At least you do go to your group , so far I’ve only gone to the meetings.. must start going on sewing days again.
ReplyDeleteYou are enjoying making all your different blocks...
Great to have done Fiona’s quilt. Looks great.
You have plenty of lovely projects to keep you busy. That is the ideal place to pin quilts. I have also become more of a "homebody" since COVID.
ReplyDeleteThat is a lot of projects & blocks finished off...I guess being home a fair bit helps all that. Each of your on the go projects looks great - and different to each other. Love the pattern Fiona used for that quilt - a great way to sue bits- as long as you have the background!
ReplyDeletegood progress on the SS blocks.... they look so good together - wont be long and you will be doing the next bit... have you been sewing HST's as you go along? I didn't.... Yay that that quilt top is done... looks lovely with your finishing off. I need to socialise more....

Yes, you definitely have been busy. You can never say you are bored.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely loving your Schoolgirl Sampler Sue - I know I say that every time - you certainly get a good variety of quilts & blocks to work on.
ReplyDeleteNice that you can get out and about again, gathering with friends, but I understand what you mean about enjoying staying at home! You have done heaps of sewing - and your schoolgirl sampler is getting better and better every time I see it - it's going to be stunning :-)
ReplyDeleteLovely lot of sewing again Sue, and yes I can relate to staying home, am happy to not get back to the hectic life of precovid.
