I have sandwiched the two little quilts for the Guild - you know how you get those days and you are just in the mood to get something done??
The two quilts are now both quilted and have their binding sewn on one side, the hand sewing will be done by another Guild member. I was lucky as there was just enough backing left to make the binding.
This wasgij has been sitting in the cupboard for a long time , so it came out to play and after about 10 days
I had a finish. The puzzle was a mystery and you had to decide what happened next, I really enjoyed this one.
I have also been sewing and crocheting away of an evening and have two blankets finished for KOGO, have one more to do.
this one had all the ends on the squares finished off, so it got the purple wool treatment 😀
This one had lots of endy bits to play with.
I got talked into doing this
Susan is a very good enabler - although I must admit she didn't have to enable much!! I didn't realise this was a cross stitch ( I obviously was not paying attention) so I have a big learning curve as I have not attempted cross stitch before. Luckily this pattern has clear instructions on the back. Susan started a Insta group and some of the ladies have finished their trees - I need to get started. 😳
I have also started an applique project, one of my challenges for this year, but no photos as yet.
I had better head off and finish the vacuuming, hubby has had his nap so I can make noise again!!
Happy stitching.
I can say I'm never in the mood to sandwich quilts. =) It's a process I'd rather avoid; but alas it must be done. Both quilts are sweet. I particularly love the one with the pups. Those knitted square blankets are colourful. You have been spending a lot of time creating love for others. So, so wonderful, Sue. Oh.....good luck with the cross stitch. You'll be fine.
ReplyDeleteHahaha! I did have a laugh when I saw you’re doing the Temperature Tree. Happy stitching.
ReplyDeleteWell done on all those great finishes …. I need some of your mojo.
You do enjoy those puzzles….🧩

Lovely finishes Sue. Hmm, Susan tempted me too, but I'm being strong!
ReplyDeleteQuite a few finishes. Including the jigsaw. It does look like a fun one. I am doing a Harley Davidson one and boy it’s hard. Of course, just three colours. Enjoy your cross stitch
ReplyDeleteTwo lovely quilts to pass on. Good luck with your tree - I was very tempted but am parking it until next year. xx
ReplyDeleteYou have been busy. I’m sure you will do fine with the cross stitch. It is ideal for starting with. I’m being strong and resisting.
ReplyDeleteWow! I have no mojo at all but need to get working on something! I am glad you are doing the tree, too. I am finally adding my leaves but here, they are all blue (for cold!) I haven't done cross stitch for about 45 years so felt like I was starting from scratch, but it worked fine. You'll do great.
ReplyDeleteSome great progress Sue - yes when we are in the mood, we need to get these things done!! I feel the same! That puzzle looks interesting & also detailed! Good luck with the cross stitch - I have a small tree to do & I have not done it for well over 10 years but am determined to give it a good whirl so long as my eyesight doesn't fail me!! xx
ReplyDeleteYou have been productive.....as you say some days are some not. That looks a very challenging puzzle.
ReplyDeleteVery sweet quilts. Hard to think of cosy blankets in this heat. Good luck with your cross stitch. Wow that puzzle looked tricky. Well done for getting it out xx
ReplyDeleteLots of sewing going on at your place as well as other crafts. I love watching the temperature tree progress on other blogs so now I can watch yours too...xox
ReplyDeleteLovely quilts and rugs ... I've never seen a puzzle like this before, my mind boggles.
ReplyDeleteIt's interesting to see the leaf colours in everyone's trees ... enjoy xx
I do love puzzles.....but dont want to give up my sewing time.
ReplyDeleteWho me??? enabling???
Look at you, forging ahead and getting stuff done! Like Kim, sandwiching rarely gets me motivated. :) I got a kick out of the mystery puzzle. Very clever the way the box is the "before" and the puzzle itself is the "after".
ReplyDeleteI have been seeing that temperature tree on several blogs lately. It is a pretty piece, and for those of you with good enough eyes to still do cross-stitch, it looks more manageable than a whole temperature quilt.
You did get things done this week! Cute little quilts and lovely KOGO blankets. I managed to avoid the cross stitch tree (though I really love it). Good to give yourself a couple of challenges -

You have been busy. The puppy quilts are cute. I think the temp tree is n’t on my list but it’s lovely . Good luck with it.
