The Tiki tour has started

Raewyn arrived last Thursday, so we headed off down to the Great Ocean Road and watched the little sunset at the Twelve Apsotles, with all the other tourists.

we stayed at Port Campbell

And stopped for a look at Gibson's Steps and walked down the steps and then had to come back up!! Phew!

Nearing the end of the 86 steps

The cliff behind Reawyn was 70m high

We then drove along the coast to the Otways Lighthouse, the light house is closed because of damage in the earthquake October 2023.

We could only see the light house from a distance, but had a good bush walk to get this view.
We finished our day at Apollo Bay.
And had a walk along the beach

                                                             Tourist on the rocks 😁
Pohutukawa flowers on a tree by the beach
Loved this sign in a shop window.
Today we travelled along the Great Ocean Road to Lorne

Part of an Adventure Lab and outside an old guest house,  Coral and Lynn.

Local Lorne resident enjoying a pear

We had a walk along the beach
Then went to the Information centre- this caravan.park is over the river and looked really peaceful.
We read about the making of the Great Ocean Road, it was very moving
The road was made by hand by returned servicemen from WW1.
They enjoyed the outdoor work but the blasting of the rocks brought back the trauma of being in the trenches in the war.
The entrance way to the Great Ocean Road, third structure, one collapsed and one was burnt down in a bush fire.

The memorial to the men who built the road by hand.
I am off to bed, I will correct the photos that are the wrong way around tomorrow.
Happily yours.
