Out in the wilds of Wales

Today we drove to Llambredis to get the train part way up Snowdon in the Snowdonia National Park......the idea then was that David and Shane would go and try to walk to the top....me I was undecided! I had my book along in case I decided to sit and wait. When we got to the train station we were told the train was only going part of the way as it was too windy up the top, and they would only run the train if they had 40 people. So we paid for tickets (fully refundable if the train didn't run) and wandered off to fill in a couple of hours.

When we got back the train was running and was full, so off we went,

Most amazing countryside, when we got back we headed off to look at a water fall we had seen from the train...quite a lot of up for me, but luckily some photos opportunities for me to stop at and get my breath!!

Adventures continued

Our next stop took us to Conway and it's amazing castle

Wonderful from all angles

Conway part of the shopping area, don't know if this was the High Street,

Shane and I went off to look at the smallest house in Britain, it had one lower room with a fire place and wooden settle, and one cold water tap, up a narrow ladder was a bedroom,  who had to close the trap door in the floor, to complete the room. A 6 foot 3 inches fisherman was the last person to live here, the place was condemned for people to live in in 1900, now tourists can go in two at a time to have a look.

David went off to the Knight shop and this is what happened

Adventures

Yesterday we travelled to Llandudno....birth place of Sylvia....and had a look around....had lunch on the promenade and got told off for feeding one chip to a seagull, apparently they attack the children...they were not bothered by people at all and obviously used to seeing people as a food source.

This was the birth place of Lewis Carrol so there are statues of characters from his book around the streets

Selsey

Many train carriages were moved to Selsey in the early 1900's and used as holiday homes. During WW2 people who had been bombed out were moved to Selsey to live in the carriages. Some people stayed and other carriages were converted to homes

Change of pace

Well after 13 and a half nearly 14 hours on the plane we landed at Heathrow. Luckily the plane was not full so I was able to go down the back and lie across 3 seats and get some sleep...after watching 4 movies, listening to some music and trying to get comfortable......sitting for that long is very difficult!! We got off the plane quite quickly, the had to queue for immigration,  the crowd shepherding man near the front took pity on Eve, thought she was suffering from all the queueing so took us to the front and put us straight through. Eve said that was one advantage of being old!!  ☺ We took a while to find the bus that took us to the hire car place, then the young man helping us took AGES to sort out the car.....mind you to me it was now about 3am so my tolerance level was low!! Lol! We eventually got underway and found our way to Selsey.....only one mistake in the navigating.....we arrived about 11.30 UK time...said our hellos to Eves brother and sister inlaw and went to bed!
Next morning dawned cloudy and dull, probably because it was only 6am when hubby appeared with a cuppa!! He was off for a walk. I was slower approaching the day but had a walk along the sea wall

Was a beautiful day, sunny and warm.

Later we went down the  High Street to get cash and stamps and saw a couple of typical English pubs.....love these buildings

Then I saw this  wonderful house tucked in between two shops

How cute is that?? The owner was out painting his front wall when we went past the first time, luckily it has wet paint signs on it as it was the perfect height to sit on !! 😊

Today we are off to Manchester to see son no. 2!! I am looking forward to that. But first we have 200 miles to travel and motorways to navigate!

Singapore

We visited the Buddha Tooth Temple and Museum such a peaceful place, very very decorated

They were preparing for a special day on October 2nd,

They had a super meditation and temple area on the 4th floor so would have liked to sit there for hours! There were some people meditating there and out in the roof top garden.

holiday happenings

Today is day 2 in Singapore, we have walked and walked and then travelled in a taxi to get out of the heat.

We have been to the Flower Dome an amazing man made garden,

Huge vertical trees,

Most amazing orchids and flower displays and views,

Inside the Flower Dome, man made gardens from different areas of the world 

Inside the Cloud Dome...huge waterfall, mist and beautiful plants and crystals

Also went to the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Museum
