FNWF

I began my FNWF with a little sewing in the afternoon getting some work done on my neglected quilt as you go blocks - I have the final row finished...now to join them all together...
I watched Mamma Mia while hand stitching - although I must say there was a little more watching than stitching some times!! Later in the evening Tracee came over and we began work on the Underground Railroad Sampler blocks...

Tracee cutting and measuring...the patterns in this book are sometimes hard to follow...or maybe I should say they feel like there are steps left out now and then....or maybe it is just me.....

I began on the Shoo Fly block.......and on the first one I managed to get one strip on upside down.....oh dear!!....and so unsewing begins!!!

that is much better!!

..here is Tracee speed ironing!!......

Tracee's Bear's Paw ready to be put together...it wasn't until she was well in to sewing that we realised some of the strips were in the wrong place... we both looked and photo'd (is that a word??) this layout and said yep that looks perfect!! I think our eyes need testing!! Lol! Anyway she unpicked and set about sewing again fortified by a scone, jam and cream....

meanwhile I had managed to get the Shoo Fly block finished,,yay!!!!

work is underway on the reconstruction of Tracee's block...

Marg called in after an SES meeting and showed us her completed block she had made during the day...Tania wasn't able to join us tonight sadly as she was laid low with a migraine...

Here we are with our finished blocks...Tracee holding Marg's and hers and mine on the end. We had a great evening, sewing, chatting, laughter and most important Friday night with Friends!!
You can pop over to the blog of our lovely host Cheryll and see what other FNWF'ers have been up to.
Happy sewing!

Well done on your blocks. Putting things upside down sounds like me.

Oh I have done that plenty of times. Thought a block looked perfect until I saw a photo of it! So lovely for you to have more than just virtual friends along for FNWF

great blocks! I love the shoo fly block.
poor tracee, are you sure only a scone was the only fortification required. I would have hit a bottle by then.

Very industrious you were, Sue! And just like the construction of a normal railroad, there are hiccups & delays!
How many blocks are in this quilt?

No matter what those naughty quilting Pixies throw at you girls you always win through in the end. All the blocks look great... who'd have thought scone, jam and cream had such restorative powers. Do you keep them in your first aid box...:o)) xx
