FNWF

After a busy day and dinner out with Adam and family I got stuck into my temperature tree
The start
And here is where I finished up last night, I have caught up to June. I am enjoying the changes in temp from being at home and then when we have been away.
I have been trying to catch up with the weeding the last few days, I mowed the back grass, need to do the front, maybe tomorrow.
Hubby has been in hospital for 2 weeks, he had a cancerous growth removed from his bowel, the anaesthetic and Parkies played havoc with his brain, making him paranoid and frightened. Thankfully he is coming good and is more like his usual self.
I had a walk along the foreshore in Geelong after visiting today.

Off to do some machine sewing i think .
Happy stitching.

Last Friday was Friday Night with Friends, hosted by Cheryll.
I did some sewing together of knitted squares for KOGO
And then some leaves on the Temperature Tree

I had a lovely afternoon out with Finn and Adam, we had a play, shared some ice cream and then headed home.

I am off to the ATM to get some money to pay for retreat to Gisborne next week.
Happy stitching.

FNWF

Last night was FNWF hosted by the lovely Cheryll, I started some knitting and then pulled it undone as I was not happy with it. Then I pulled out the  cross stitch to do a bit more of that. I forgot to take a before photo so this is where I am at
Stitching towards the needle holder.
Happy stitching.

Chookshed Stitchers Challenge and FNWF and life

This quilt was my January challenge and it is finally finished. The quilt is designed by Sonya Else an artist from Rochester, Vic. Sonya came and talked to the Guild on Saturday so it was good motivation for me to get the quilt finished. Nothing like a deadline!! She is an amazing creative person, she has an idea and then works out how to create it, a few photos of her works are below
I dont know if these photos are working because as I am trying to make this post I can see what I am typing but not the photos, I am getting rows of letters and numbers and symbols!! This months challenge is the Hatched and Patched project we were given at Baradine last year - again another deadline to get me moving!! I have only had a year!!!
Progress so far happened on FNWF ( I forgot to take a photo) and yesterday at Guild
I have been spending some time with Finn
At home playing with water, the serious job of attaching a baby chino and at the playground, always a beautiful view from there. Last week we celebrated our 41st anniversary and went to Jack Rabbit for lunch - the views were stunning
I have also finished a Wasgij
The challenge is what the horse can see
Today I have finished the binding on this quilt, kindly quilted by Tracee of Hummingbird Quilting in Gisborne
Love this fabric. Well that is me updated for now, I will publish and hope it works - happy stitching.

FNWF

Not a huge lot of sewing was done last night, I did get the second quilt sandwiched

my assistant was smelling the roses
I did a little hand sewing while watching a Jackie Chan movie last night
Yes quarter inch hexies - I had a mad moment - I m making a small project so it isn't too much sewing, I need to cover more papers, maybe tonight.
This morning I went for a walk with the dogs and Mary a quilting friend, Mary lives at Indented Head just along the coast from us and a friend of hers lives closer to Portarlington. So we decided to see if we and the dogs could walk the distance. Tira wanted a swim on the way

Looking back from where we had come. We did make the distance and had a cuppa with Mary's friend, we walked 7.46kmaccording to my phone and blew my steps quota out of the water for the day.
I am off, I hear a dog whining at the back door, no doubt she wants to come back in!
Happy stitching.

FNWF

Tonight is Friday and it is Friday Night with Friends, the first Friday of the month. Cheryll is our lovely host and has gathered us together for an evening of crafting. This afternoon I decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather and sandwich a quilt. The top has come from a lady who no longer quilts, she has gone into care and sent her son along to our group with 3 bags of quilt tops on the condition they all go to charity. So I am making a start

My two assistants have been loafing about
enjoying the beautiful weather
I am off outside again while it is still sunny to try and get another top sandwiched.
Happy stitching.

FNWF

I was happily sewing away last night and finished up this quilt top for the Guild Mystery quilt
Blogger has this upside down, but you can see the now top row has some blocks around the wrong way , so today I have to unpick and try again
This is what the quilt should look like 😁
I don't understand why blogger has decided to put the photos upside down  🙃🙂
I am doing this post on my phone so don't know how to link with Cheryll's blog but there us a link on the previous post.
Thank you Cheryll for an evening of virtual sewing together.
Happy stitching.

Tonight is

Thank you to Cheryll for hosting us.
Tonight I am hoping to get these blocks sewn together
These are for the Guild Mystery quilt and as we have been urged to have them finished by the Quilt In this month I thought I had better get on with it 😁. I have that quilt listed as #1 on the challenge, so that could be changed to something else.
I also found this kit, which was where it was supposed to be 🙄, I had put it away, oh dear!!
I have spent the last hour writing out the phone contacts from hubbies phone so we can manually enter them into his new phone! Now I am off to sew.

FNWF

And family...I didn't get a lot of sewing done
All I did were these two hexagon units for the Tea and Cake quilt

Shane and Rilla arrived around 9pm  along with Miss Miffy who settled in on the couch.

Saturday we went to Van Loons for lunch to celebrate Shane's birthday  sorry only photos of Finn 😁

So many things to look at here!

Finn enjoyed a bub a chino
Later in the afternoon we all enjoyed Finn's playing
He was taking off and putting on the wooden ball on the beach glass container and thought he was so clever!! We all did!!

So special to have everyone together.
This morning we found Miffy
Climbing the back door screen

The lure of the birds outside was too much. She did have to stay inside though!
I have done a little sewing this afternoon, we now have Hank and Tira staying for a couple of nights

I am off to the lap top to see if I can turn these sideways photos around.
Happy stitching.

PS All good now!!
