Wednesday wanderings

This was the view along the beach this morning, such a beautiful calm morning.....the ripple in the water was this dog

having wonderful fun swimming out to retrieve a ball......I went off to sewing at the local community space and we had a bit of amazing show and tell.

Jill has finished her applique blocks...these are just beautiful..

aren't they amazing, she does the most beautiful applique!!
Then Kath finished her last block on the quilt she is making

and laid it all out for us to see...isn't that beautiful!!This is the first quilt Kath has made!! Some hand sewing and some machine...
This afternoon we went into Geelong to the movies and saw The Hunt for the Wilderpeople!! I loved it and yes I know I am a Kiwi and there for biased, but David enjoyed it too, there was a grand total of 10 people at the 1.30pm showing and we all laughed and cried and enjoyed ourselves!! We all came out smiling so that says something!! I recommend anyone going to see it!!

This was the sea and sky just as we got home...so peaceful and lovely colours.

I have finished the applique flower and reverse applique on the label...had to do the flower twice and this is how it is staying, just needs it's yellow centre and then I can do the outer circle. A job for tomorrow!!

I have one more KOGO blanket to make, have pinned the squares together now I need to sew them! Is good to do in the evenings.
I had better go and get some dinner organised!! Although I must confess I am onto my second G & T and am not really bothered anymore!! Lol!!
Happy sewing.

Winter in your part of the world is just lovely!! Gorgeous blocks made by your friends and lovely applique by you, too. Good to hear you enjoyed 'our' movie - I haven't been to see it yet but it sounds like a must-see :-) I'm sure a couple of GandTs helped make a great meal!

Great post Sue ... gorgeous new Header made me laugh. That ladies applique blocks are just amazing, love the colours. Has she used needle turn applique or blanket stitch around them do you know?? I gave my son some movie tickets & he took his wife to that movie & they both loved it. Enjoy those G & T's Sue.

LOL, you have to watch those G&Ts, they tend to sneak up on you . Good to be comfortably numb occasionally. Love those pics of all the beautiful appliques. A great group. Keep well, smiling and have a G & T with me tonight.

Wow, that was a bit of a treat, seeing Kath's blocks! Love her colour choices. And if it takes a few G&Ts to get you thru the day, I say go for it! I was wondering about that movie, must see if it is screening anywhere near us.

What a great post. I love those applique blocks, both ladies', and I'm stunned that is Kath's first quilt! Thank you for the photo of the sunset on the water, too. The beach scenes in the post looked terrific. Do you live right on the beach? The movie sounds good, but I don't suppose I'll get to see it up over.
