Back home

Well after 7 days in hospital and various tests I am back home for a while. The Dr's think I have Crohns disease, which I am told can be managed with diet and medication. But before the managing starts I have to go back to hospital in two weeks and have a small part of the small bowel removed. Once that is done things should get back to normal.
I wanted to say Thank you for all the good wishes I have received, all the support, I have some beautiful caring friends for which I am very grateful. I received some beautiful flowers  and plants while in hospital, the nurses said I was sitting in a flower shop!!

Beautiful colours here.
These smell wonderful, very gummy and bush like.

A beautiful chain of hearts plant.

I did take stitching with me and managed to get a little done

I also did some secret stitching a challenge with Raewyn...shhhh it is secret!!

I had a walk down along the beach today

it was good being out in the fresh air

This looked like a relaxing way to travel.

Lovely flowers on a gum tree just over the road.

I have laid out some knitted squares I was given to sew into a KOGO blanket, now I am waiting on the motivation.
Think I will go and make a cuppa.
Happy stitching.

  11. I am thinking of you and sending you lots of love, hugs and healing wishes. I am not surprised that you took hand sewing with you. Cannot sit still, can you? A blanket out of knitted squares sounds lovely - soft and warm and so soothing. Take care, Susan!!!

  16. Oh Sue. I was unaware of your issues. Hope you get on top of it soon. I worked with a lady years ago with this disease. Her daughter had it worse but both were able to manage it quite well.
I'm sure, with plenty of advice, you will do very well and be ok...

  19. Hello Sue.

Go plant based, watch Forks over Knives and look at there website. Changing my diet getting rid of some food categories gave me the best blood tests ever.
Best wishes on your journey to better health.

    Happy days.
    Bev.

  22. Sue - so glad you are back home and were able to get out to your beloved beach. (Love the light in the sky in those pictures.) Being sick is never fun, but perhaps there is a silver lining with knowing what it is and having a plan to go forward. You are in our thoughts!

  23. Oh dear.....I’ve been very slack with my blog reading.....sorry to hear all this....but a diagnosis is a great step forward...take it easy....saw your sewing room post too.....one section at a time....you’ll get there.

  24. I'm glad there's a treatment plan in place. That's important, and you can manage it completely. It looks like you didn't waste your time while you were waiting, though. I would love to own a small yacht, but maybe not a sailboat. I'd have to have a lot more money for even a cabin cruiser, though. =)

  26. That is so lovely to get flowers when you are feeling unwell. I am glad that the doctors have a solution. The stitcheries look wonderful and beautiful photos from your walk. The blues match the squares for the kogo blanket.

  27. Hospitals are tiresome and weird, and I am glad that apart from the surgery scheduled, you can manage well by following a proper diet.L like the nurse mentioned, you are quite famous, and the room looks like a flower shop. The unfinished Kogo blanket is a visual treat and hope your motivational cuppa has triggered the artist in you. I am hoping to see the finished quilt in an upcoming post.
