December market in Gisborne - very hot and very busy. We did really well for AOP and took $934. Our big girl got loads of attention once again and had her photo taken many times.

Craft fair
Had a great day at the Craft Fair at Jeffs Shed on Saturday - made a Lucky Japanese Owl - surprise huh!! They bring luck to the person who gives them I was told on Saturday - Hamish the Owl is made and sitting on the bench ready for a visit to the sewing group tomorrow. As usual there was lots to look at and be tempted to buy - I did weaken and but a pattern with bees on it, plus some fabric plus a beautiful blue fabric I can felt onto (when I get brave!). I found a hanger with stars on it for the owl wall quilt, wasn't looking for it but there it was!!
Isn't this a beautiful quilt?? Could imagine myself sitting by the waterfall.

Owls
Had a trip up to Kyneton with Marg and Sylvia last Friday and found this wonderful book - Favourite Techniques by Pat Sloan and on the front were these cute as owls!! So I had to have it and came home thinking about what I could do. Went to see Lorraine the next day to get some of the dark blue starry night fabric for the background 'cos owls come out at night don't they? I had some batiks with gold thru' them that I wanted to use and here is the result - still work to be done, the eyes need to be finished but I am really happy with how they have turned out do far. Big smiles on my face!!! I get so excited when an idea actually works!!

Daylesford
Spent the day in Daylesford yesterday - foggy from Woodend to Daylesford and foggy all day. We were told it was 4 degrees at one stage - sure felt like it. Eve had a great time in the antique shop, I sat by the pot belly stove and sewed! Sadly I forgot to take my camera!!

Garden
After 2 1/2 hours of hard work managed to claim some of the garden back - lovely to be out in the sun today. My theory of putting down bark chips to stop the weeds has failed miserably!! Now trying more paving stones that I bought to do mosaics on but haven't. back sore now but happy to get it done!!

Orangutan
My companion in the car! I had a stall for the Australian Orangutan Project at the Gisborne market and had to take everything back to Brighton on the Monday. The big girl just fitted in the front passenger seat - we got a few strange looks on our way to the city. I was really happy with the market we took $620 which was good for June and a cold showery day. We sold 3 adoptions which was great.
