Aussie Hero quilt

Has been finished and posted
Now to the next one currently under construction
I have messed up the feet so need to redo them, I forgot to have my picture I am tracing from in reverse so I am working backwards 🙃🤪 does funny things to my brain!
I have just been for a covid booster, have been told no strenuous exercise for two days 🤣 no problem there, the nurse didn't consider sewing strenuous!!
A Finn photo from the weekend taken by Beth in the suit Mary bought him. Finn now has three teeth on the top and is chewing like mad, so maybe more are moving around.
My plan for today is to clean the inside of the car so I had better go and do it, gently!! 😁
Have a mosiacs class this afternoon which I am looking forward too.
Happy stitching.

Healing hearts quilt

Found this idea on the Kiwiquilts site designed by Mary Metcalf - and thought I would use the pohutukawa fabric that has been sitting in my stash. Took it to quilting group and the idea appealed to everyone there so now we are working on a group quilt to send off to Christchurch. Will be interesting to see all the different fabrics when we get the hearts together as everyone is using fabric from their stash.

French braid quilt

Quilt is finally on the bed - is a little small but sits ok on the top.

Train quilt

The train quilt is finished and gone to it's new home! The applique of the tracks took a long time but the end result shows it was worth all the effort! I am very happy with the finished quilt!

Crafting weekend

We had a great sewing weekend at St Leonards, bit cold and we didn't get to the beach but we got lots of sewing done - I have nearly finished the kiwi quilt, am very happy with how it has turned out. Just have to sew a black border all around and then it is off for quilting.

Craft fair

Had a great day at the Craft Fair at Jeffs Shed on Saturday - made a Lucky Japanese Owl - surprise huh!! They bring luck to the person who gives them I was told on Saturday - Hamish the Owl is made and sitting on the bench ready for a visit to the sewing group tomorrow. As usual there was lots to look at and be tempted to buy - I did weaken and but a pattern with bees on it, plus some fabric plus a beautiful blue fabric I can felt onto (when I get brave!). I found a hanger with stars on it for the owl wall quilt, wasn't looking for it but there it was!!

Isn't this a beautiful quilt?? Could imagine myself sitting by the waterfall.

Owls

Aahh that's better~ two awake owls and a wee sleepy owl who hasn't quite woken up yet!!

French Braid Quilt

The french braid quilt came back from Deep Creek Quilting - many thanks Wilma - it has been neatened off and the binding sewn on - boy what a job for me to get the final seam done!! I am so pleased with the colours and the pattern both front and back.

Owls

The owls are finished!! Yippee!! They are a little dull in this photo - think I had better take another one with the flash!

My second quilt!! I printed photos on to fabric and cut then into hexagons - one row with photos one row plain, kind of a potted history of my Dad's life. I really enjoyed this and am planning another hexagon quilt but with stitchery this time. dad was really happy with this - it was meant to be a lap quilt but is now up on the wall - too good to use!!
