has gone by already since I was last here. Time certainly is going by quickly. The weeks seem to be busier now that some groups have started again and I am also going swimming twice a week. Trying to get some fitness back again!
So,
We had very heavy rain on Friday but Saturday afternoon was windy but fine enough to get outside.
last weekend I sandwiched and quilted the Garfield quilt, fabric sent to me by Fiona. Not the best photo, I laid it out in the door way but you can get the idea. The quilt now needs trimming and binding,
Another block for the Schoolgirl Sampler
And row two complete.
Ingrid gave me the jar in the centre to make a terrarium, hubby was going to the hardware shop so I asked if he could get me a very small fern to go in the jar, you can see what he brought home. 😀
Luckily I had a huge jar in the pantry so one fern is in there, the other is now in the bathroom.
another block for the Schoolgirl Sampler
and a partial row done, I am trying to add the sashings as I make the blocks, I have hit a dead stop as I can't get the next block to work so I am going to choose something different from the end of the book to make next.
I have been hand stitching each evening this week and slowly getting the rows of the Old Time Kaleidoscope together, one more row to go and then the side blocks.
Yesterday I made some blocks for the Anthology quilt, holidays are over so Ingrid and I are back into this challenge
I also made the Sail Away block for Anthology, the ship is going in the wrong direction but it did at least fit together and is the right size!!
The last block I made for Anthology yesterday, Butterfly. Today I am off for a swim (pool not sea) then back home to make a Sylvia's Bridal Sampler Block.
I am hoping to join in with Friday Night with Friends, you can sign up over at Cherylls and join an evening of virtual sewing.
We are away this weekend staying at Lake Burrumbeet and going to Tarnagulla on Saturday for the farewell to David's step father. The Lake also has geocaches along it so you can enjoy the views, I just hope the weather is good for us/me to go searching.
Sue - I probably sound like a broken record, always saying how gorgeous I find your stitching. I especially like the Old Time Kaleidoscope - the pattern, the colors, how it looks when pieced together - stunning! I hope you enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteYou have done so much again! Love the Garfield quilt! The terrarium looks good, too. Stay safe, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteYour long term projects all made good progress this week. Mick loves Garfield, so I’ll have to show the quilt to him. I had to chuckle about the ferns. At least they are ferns. Enjoy your swimming and time away. .
ReplyDeleteHaha! Now you will have three nice ferns when you get a small one for the littler jar....
ReplyDeleteYou have been busy with many pretty blocks....nice quilt make with your gifted panel..

ReplyDeleteI love "Cool Cat"...so much FuN...xox
I did smile at your husband's very small fern. Your Schoolgirl Samplers' blocks are lovely; as are the Kaleidoscope ones. Garfield is a fun quilt.
ReplyDeleteI am loving your school girl Sampler blocks Sue - just beautiful. I did laugh at what David bought home for you (Sorry David!) as that is exactly what Graham would've bought home for me if I'd asked. You need the "baby houseplants" for that size jar I think. Have a great weekend away Sue. xx
ReplyDeleteGood for you on going swimming.
ReplyDeleteI love the Garfield quilt!
Good work Sue. Have a safe time away...
ReplyDeleteYou have lots going on in the sewing room. Your Kaleidoscope scope blocks are gorgeous. Enjoy your weekend away and geocaching along the way.
ReplyDeleteLots of lovely projects going on there! The kaleidoscope top is gorgeous! xx
ReplyDeleteWish I could tag along with you guys on that trip. Sounds like so much fun to go geocaching. Meanwhile, I just love all your projects you have on the go and enjoy seeing your progress. Lovely blocks all. I really like the idea of a terrarium though I do have my indoor plants to keep alive. Good luck with yours. Happy Stitching from me!
ReplyDeleteSo many lovely projects on the go. I love the school girl sampler blocks and the Anthology boat looks great...who said it can't sail in a different direction? Lol. Loooove your OTK blocks pieced together. Hooray for Garfield ! Hope you enjoyed your swim and have a nice trip.
ReplyDeleteSo many wonderful blocks!
ReplyDeleteLots of lovely sewing Sue. Isn't it amazing how quickly our lives get busy again?! I remember thinking that after our lockdown last year. I do love how your Old Time is looking. I salvaged a big jar from Mum's in the hope of doing some sort of planting - I will follow yours with interest!
