Out and about today

Today I had to take the Guild laptop to the laptop Dr to get looked at as it was not well. It has been left there for tests and hopefully it will have a full recovery as it needs to be in good working order for the next newsletter.

I had to go over to Torquay, down the coast from us about 50 mins drive, not allowing for me getting lost and having a little Tiki tour.

Coming home I decided to stop at the beaches along the way

Whites Beach in Torquay, windy today so the waves are rolling in.

Barwon Heads, I am not sure what the dark blob is, maybe my finger? This is the calm beach with the two bridges over the river.

View under the bridge

Looking up the river at Barwon Heads to the open sea, the building to the right is a restaurant.

Under the bridges again.

Ocean Grove, a collection of lost items.

Lunch in the car before heading home.

Ingrid was here for the weekend and on Saturday afternoon (late) she decided to make a mini quilt. All the pieces are one and a half inch square and is called Planning a Trip quilt, Ingrid beavered away and by later in the evening the quilt was done. She is now working out how to keep the zig zag edge and bind.

I have managed a measly three foundation paper pieced hearts, plus a little hand sewing with hexies.
Maybe more will be done tomorrow. I am not bothered I have had a good day.
Happy stitching.

Out and about

Yesterday was a home day for me I spent 2 hours in the garden, the Supervisor was helping by lying on the area I was trying to weed, then rolling on plants, sadly the plants we wanted to keep!! Most of the afternoon disappeared with book reading and knitting...I have been playing with wool from Lincraft
this wool is lovely and soft and it is lovely to sit and knit away in the evening.

These are two Sylvia's Wedding Quilt Sampler blocks I finished on the retreat last week
Today I was over at Barwon Heads for the Seachange sit and sew,  it was a good morning. After that i had a walk along the sea path and around the Bluff, after the rain this morning it was great to have a walk in the sun
Here we go along the beach path

looking back to the bridge

walking around the headland

this dog was having a great run along the beach

it kept telling it's human to hurry up!!

I got a little more done on the Christmas stitchery today.
I am off to get another cuppa, the one here  has gone cold.
Happy sewing.

Here it is

Tuesday already!! The days are zipping by!! I had a great weekend, Adam and David cooked a roast on Saturday night which was wonderful, on Sunday Shane came here and we had lunch out at the Flying Brick Cider Co, which was great. I learned recently the locals around here call the yellow tailed, black cockatoos, flying bricks!! I thought they flew ok!! Lol!!
posing after Sunday lunch!

Back home we had present giving, Adam had his birthday earlier in the week and Shane had brought goodies from his trip to the US

work is continuing on the Aussie Hero quilt on and off over the weekend.

progress so far

On Monday afternoon the sun came out and some mulch was spread on the garden, Shane had been working not just resting on the shovel! Lol!!

David finished spreading..

the back yard looks really good this afternoon, although we have a mosquito infestation, which I hear is happening all over Geelong and the Bellarine, we have had so much rain and there is so much water around the mosquitoes are breeding rapidly....I hope the frogs I hear around the area are eating the larva for breakfast lunch and dinner!!

Today, Tuesday, I have been to the Seachange group meeting and afterwards had a walk around the Bluff similar to what David and I did two weekends ago, but the weather was so much better today. It was a very low tide today when I was there.

One for the record. :-)

Looking over to Queenscliff from the Bluff

this coast line is amazing and looks so much better in fine weather!!

Surf pounding in!

This afternoon I started back into the Aussie Hero quilt and sadly some un-sewing had to happen, I am using the new machine and am finding it different to the old one, this one seems to be making the fabric travel under the foot, so I had better check what I am doing...I have another 2 strips on, but now I am going crooked and off the backing fabric!!! Agghhh!! Enough for today I will look at it again tomorrow.
Happy sewing.

Hexie Quilt

I have been back working on the hexie quilt the past few nights and have nearly got it to a rectangle
Quite happy with how it looks now.
Yesterday I went over to Seachange Quilters sewing day and on the way home I had a short walk along the coast line

Was a bit of a wild and woolly day but great to be out walking after sitting sewing for a few hours.
Happy sewing.

Out and about again!!

This morning I took Tupai for an early walk, then went off to line dancing, then zipped over to Barwon heads for the Seachange Quilters sewing day, I forgot to take lunch so left about 1.45, got some hot chips and took them to the beach to eat! Heaven!!! A little breezy but most enjoyable.
The vies from where I had lunch.....looking back along the Barwon River to the bridge....

I walked up around thee headland...love it up here hearing the surf pounding in.....

nice little rock pool down there to paddle in!! Lol!!

my hexie quilt is slowly coming along.....been working on the sides to try and even it up....today I am linking up with Anthea over at hibiscus stitches for her EPP linky. There are some amazing projects happening with EPP around the place, you can see some of them over there.
Happy sewing/
