Last One

The last KOGO rug has been finished and delivered

At the Bellarine Quilters we have made hearts to go in a card to let a group member know we are thinking of them if they are unwell or something happens to a family member. Jenny was super keen about this idea, so after a lesson on what to do and how to do it she made these

Very good for a first time I think. They have now been delivered to the group and Jenny has taken some home to work on there.

I spent some time in Geelong doing an Adventure Lab finding street art all done by women painters

I hadn't seen these before so was interesting to see some different art.

I had a walk with Beth and Finn in the week

I have been working on the tea towel challenge - which has become bigger than Ben Hur!!

I am currently wrestling with it at the machine

Today I had to go to Ocean Grove for an appointment so went to have a look at the ocean

the wind was cool- there were a few brave souls in the water.

I am off to do some more wrestling

Christmas Eve

 It still hasn't sunk in it is Christmas I don't think, feels like a normal Friday night, pizza has been consumed and hubby is watching a movie about a robot Western. Kind of strange.

I still need to take the papers out of the back of the blocks, I am pretty happy with how it turned out.

I haven't been doing a lot of sewing this last week

a few cropped diamonds were sewn together over the last couple of nights, I have been doing a lot of reading. I came across a Rotary book sale and got a bag full of Michael Connelly, so have been working my way through them.  

This afternoon I decided to make a table runner for Christmas, yep last minute!! I have had this fabric for years, I got it at a department store in Dusseldorf, Germany, several years ago. It is very simple, just folded in half wadding on the outside, sewn around the edges and turned in, then a row of stitching around the edge and quilted. It is a lovely linen fabric so a really good weight.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas, we are going to #1 sons place tomorrow and then having 8 come here Boxing Day. Will be great to catch up with everyone.

Out and about today

 Today I had to take the Guild laptop to the laptop Dr to get looked at as it was not well. It has been left there for tests and hopefully it will have a full recovery as it needs to be in good working order for the next newsletter.

I had to go over to Torquay, down the coast from us about 50 mins drive, not allowing for me getting lost and having a little Tiki tour.

Coming home I decided to stop at the beaches along the way

Lunch in the car before heading home.

Ingrid was here for the weekend and on Saturday afternoon (late) she decided to make a mini quilt. All the pieces are one and a half inch square and is called Planning a Trip quilt, Ingrid beavered away and by later in the evening the quilt was done. She is now working out how to keep the zig zag edge and bind.

I have managed a measly three foundation paper pieced hearts, plus a little hand sewing with hexies.

Maybe more will be done tomorrow. I am not bothered I have had a good day.

Retreat day 3

My last Schoolgirl Sampler block for the retreat, the Sawtooth Star.

 

I managed to make the half Le Moyne Stars for the next section of Betty's Medallion and join them in.

The resident deciding whether to talk to the interloper or not, she later let me brush her, I was very honoured!

Another few heart blocks joined the group. I don't know how these are going to go together but will keep making blocks for the time being.
