Last morning and home

Our last morning in Coolum we went to the Surf Club for coffee
It was a beautiful day,  we could see big splashing way out in the water, David asked how long whales lived, so I googled to find the answer....80 years and stumbled on the Coolum Beach whales watching group.  They said hump back whales were visible from the Coolum Surf club and two look out points near by. So we were seeing the fin and tail slaps of hump back whales 🐋.
The flight back was good, our luggage came through quickly, then we found there is a new free service at Tullamarine to help people with walkers etc to get to their bus/pick up. So David was in a wheelchair and another kind man took our cases while I managed David's walker.
We came home to a very cold house, turning the heater on was the first thing to do!
Since then I have been cleaning, running errands, moving, gardening and a bit of sewing.
David has started his programme at the Parkinson's support group on Geelong,  happy to have that under way.
We have had some wonderful mornings, cool but sunny. Good for walking on the beach.
Saturday I went to a sit and sew with some of the lovely ladies from the Gisborne retreat.
I brought home fabric and cut ten inch squares and Sunday I sewed them together
Simple quilt that I will call Eunice's flower garden the fabrics are from Carleen sister in law....we are working through her stash.

I recently finished this book, was really good.
I am off to the library bus soon so had better go and get ready.
Happy stitching.

Holiday

We have been on the Sunshine Coast at Coolum for a week now.  The weather has been a mix of sunny,  rain and muggy heat.
Some stitching has been done
The start

My first evening walk in the rain
looking back at Coolum
drawing in the sand
Sunny day
More stitching done

Morning walk along the board walk and to the next bay
Sections of a python in a box under the board walk handrail,  I think it was sleeping but was only brave enough to poke the camera near by! Snakes scare me i have to admit! I know pythons are not poisonous but I am told they can still bite!! 🙄
This dog is 14 years old and is a Rottie German Shepherd cross, he was waiting for his owner outside a shop, beautiful boy, very friendly.
Coolum Beach, the blue person on the rocks is hubby doing a watercolour in the wind.

The clouds here are amazing.
I am off for a cuppa, more soon
Happy stitching.

Queensland

This week we have come up north to Queensland. Friday we went out to Burleigh Heads and had a quick look at the beach, in-between the rain showers
a bit further along we found Palm Beach
David had meeting at a business park and as luck would have it just down the road was a fabric shop
it was an amazing shop,  so much to look at, 2 floors of fabric! A few jumped in my bag to come home with me.
Yesterday the men were gaming so us ladies went out to search for caches at Perigian Beach. Our first stop was at the community gardens
we found a Costa scarecrow and some beautiful pottery stacks
next we went to the village and the beach
lots of little pohutukawa trees are in flower here.
Last night we had dinner at the Coolum pub and afterwards we had a ride on the Ferris wheel
and of course had to sit in the big deck chair!!
another day of adventures awaits today
Happy stitching.
