Yesterday

Was the Geelong Patchwork and Quilters Guild Quilt In, held at West Geelong Town hall. The committee had an 8am start to get things set up, the traders started to arrive around 8.30 and early birds from 9.30, even though we opened at 10am.
We had wonderful traders and a great speaker,  a big crowd of 242 people and everyone seemed to have had a great day.
I left my phone at home so I have pinched some photos from one of the Bellarine ladies
The crowd doing the stretching and breathing exercises, out President is an ex Physio 😊
Our speaker Veronique Diligent explaining her work
She does the most beautiful applique, the ones above are her stress stitching, that is she does it to avoid stress, beautiful little birds and houses and trees, the embroidery is done with one strand of floss.
Some of her blocks are made into beautiful books, the colours are wonderful.
Some shopping happened
End of roll for backing and fabric hopefully foe an upcoming class
Special pens and doilies
An Indian thread  spool? Is that what I should be calling it? That has a use that will be done one day 🙄🤔
a zippy bag and broach for a knitty friend
And I have had one finish
Blogger has gone sideways!
A child's quilt. Another one is on the machine, but thus afternoon I am off for grandma duties so the parents can go for a coffee and chat uninterrupted.
Happy stitching.

Kilmore Quilt In

Today I went to the quilt in at Kilmore with the Gisborne Girls and some of the City Girls, the speaker was Maree St  Clair from Maree St Calir quilts 😁. We started with some show and tell, I only took a few photos, well looks like I disnt take any photos 🙃
But I do have many photos of Maree and her amazing 1930's quilts she has purchased in the US.
Oops I think that was show and tell! 😁
this was an unfinished quilt
This one Maree made using clamshells - I think from now on they are Maree's quilts
This was a challenge quilt made by a group member
General view of the hall
Above and the next few are the last of the show and tell for the day
Great scrap buster
Maree's shop
The other trader was the Quilt Shop from Eltham,  some purchases might have been made!! 😁
We all had a wonderful day and the Kilmore Quilting ladies were very friendly and welcoming.
Happy stitching.
