Family birthday

DH had his birthday yesterday...he is not a fan of birthdays or celebrating and they usually slide by with little fan fare but last night Adam and Jen came over and got fish and chips for dinner and then surprised DH with a cake....

Some serious packing happening here and comparing of what each has......the boys are off to NZ today for a walking adventure along the Routeburn Track......

52 weeks word photo challenge

We have three words for the photo challenge this week, I think there is only one week left after this one, then we are done! So the words for this week are HANDY, YARN and CHIP.

Advent calender

Today I opened another gift from the advent calender bag from Tania and this was what I found

How nice is this?? I have been reading about all kinds of interesting people who have started quilt making projects for many different reasons....some of them are now world wide....very inspiring...thank you Tania, I love it!!

Back again...

Today I have been out in the yard for a while wrestling with the blackberry that will insist on growing through the hakea trees on the fence line....there is also a lot of that sticky weed around too

this is where I have been...I have so many scratches from the trees!!

the supervisor heard/found something in the wood pile and would NOT come away.....I was just hoping it wasn't a snake....most likely a bunny but you can never be sure!!

Have finished the binding on the quilt for DH's niece...very happy with this one

even made a label for the back!!

Tania and I agreed to do an advent swap at the start of the year...we would make/buy something for the other to unwrap on the days leading up to Christmas....Tania gave me mine yesterday and I had a lovely time opening 12 presents.......Yay!!!!

Here are my goodies so far...lots of beautiful things...thank you Tania I am enjoying this very much!!
