Postcard in the mail box!!

A Chow chow!! What a great surprise to get in the mail - I haven't seen many cards of chows so this was a real treat.

These two beautiful postcards came in the mail today - the owl from Finland, although it is a Snowy Owl from Iceland, and the orangutan from Portugal. Was lovely to visit the mailbox today!!

Healing hearts quilt

Found this idea on the Kiwiquilts site designed by Mary Metcalf - and thought I would use the pohutukawa fabric that has been sitting in my stash. Took it to quilting group and the idea appealed to everyone there so now we are working on a group quilt to send off to Christchurch. Will be interesting to see all the different fabrics when we get the hearts together as everyone is using fabric from their stash.

Was looking around Gisborne this morning looking for photo opportunities for another project, so went up Mt Gisborne and took this photo from the top.

I went to the zoo last Tuesday and saw the new baby orangutan - well I think she is 8wks old now - she is so beautiful and so little! I think her name is Dwi.

Was out walking one morning as this boat came along, the water was so smooth it made a wonderful reflection.

New Zealand

Was in NZ recently visiting Dad as he is in hospital. Mum and I went for a walk around Ferguson Park in the evening one day and this storm came in - we got wet but also got a great photo!!
