Busy day

Today was set up day for the Bellarine Quilters exhibition, quilts were to be dropped off at about 10 am this morning, and hung by the owner while they were there. It made for a busy time! Several hubbies came along to do the heavier work.
Happy helpers working away this morning.

Maria's beautiful quilt

Looking down one of the walk ways to Joan's quilt at the end.
There is a magpie at the Mill who seems to be angry we are coming and going, and swoops every time someone walks nearby....will need to take an umbrella tomorrow when I go back to help with the tweaking and setting up the trading table.
I have been sewing on the circles on the Doing the Rounds, 39 are now attached.....there are many more to go!!

This afternoon I have started on the next Aussie Hero's quilt

the theme for this one is Australian army and Iraq..so far we have the flag and a camel, hubby says I need date palm trees, so that is next to be done.
Number 2 son, Shane, is staying here for a few days while acting in a film being made at Torquay

He brought some mending

and happily found a space in the messy sewing room and proceeded to do what needed to be done!
I had better go and work out these palm trees.
Happy stitching.

  2. Oh, those quilts look good! Must make my way down there. Glad to see your son is doing his own mending; you’ve taught him well. Doing the rounds is coming along well.

  4. Your quilt show looks like it’s going to be grand! I’ll wager a bet that that magpie has a nest nearby and feels threatened by your comings and goings. How nice to see your son doing his own mending! His mom taught him well!

  7. Yay for sons who know how to fix things themselves! The quilt show looks amazing already. A mill seems an interesting place to hold it, too. I hope you have a wonderful turnout.
