Foundation Paper Piecing

Thus week has been spent making the foundation paper piecing blocks, for the raffle quilt at the Bellarine Quilters exhibition next year.  I have managed to make 5 blocks now and have run out of black fabric, hopefully I can get more Monday.
And here they are laid out together
Mary was here today making her first block and learning about foundation paper piecing, she will be back to continue tomorrow.
I am off for a soak in the bath.
Happy stitching.

This Month

Has started with a UFO or sewing day at the Bellarine Quilters, we made zipped bags with clear vinyl fronts

These are now out of order, binding added at home

sewing the start of the bag at the class

learning a new way to attach the zip

Busy ladies

Binding added at home - some hand stitching had to be done on the bits the machine didn't catch.

- I sewed the binding onto the Modern Triangles quilt

And started the quilting on an Oncology quilt - blogger wants this one to stay sideways !!
I even managed to get the backing caught underneath 🙄, all fixed now though
Today I have been for a  walk with Beth and Finn
It is a beautiful day today, I have walked the dogs and they have had a play in the back yard, soon they will be walked home.

Of course there is a photo of Finn

And then it was lunch time.
I am.off to cut binding for the Aussie Hero quilt.
Happy stitching.  😊

Last day of January

This challenge for January has been completed

I have made the blocks for the Guild Mystery Challenge
A few more to be trimmed
I have finished the Bellarine Quilters Modern Triangles challenge, fewer blocks than the pattern wanted but I wanted it finished!
The quilt has gone to Joan to be quilted.
The Aussie Hero quilt top is finished, I have just sandwiched it out  the back deck, which was a bit hot

Next time I need to drag the table into the shade.
I had a walk with Beth and Finn yesterday, we had a play on the swing on the way back
It was a beautiful day to be out and about

I am happy to have had a productive month and am looking forward to seeing which number Deana pulls from the hat for February.
Happy stitching.

Looking down the food table, the gf food was at this end.
First pudding,  the second was a mini Xmas pud, gone before I thought to take a photo 🤣
Karen was our superb chef, very thoughtful and competent person.
Visiting for a photo 😁,
Photos from the tea towel challenge
my tea towel challenge, double sides table cloth for the out door table  it will not blow off, it weighs a ton!!
The winner of the challenge was Jenny
Who also made a table cloth with her tea towel as the centre piece
Pat was second with her beautifully felted and embroidered tea towel. It was a wonderful fun filled day to end the year.
