The last few days

seem to have been busy and gone by in a blur! I have had this desert rose plant for over 15 years, it cam home with me from Bowen in far north Queensland, it had been growing slowly. This year we put it into a bigger pot, gave it lots of food and a few days ago we noticed the first ever flowers were coming!!!

a bunch of 4 or 5 flowers on two branches!! I am very excited to finally get flowers. I am wondering if it is because we have had hot and humid weather this summer??

Hubby has planted hibiscus plants in the garden and was most excited with this flower.

One morning when we went for a walk this pigeon kept a close eye on us..

The Supervisor wasn't interested! He just wanted to eat grass so must have been feeling a bit off.

It was a lovely day for a walk along the beach.
Today Ingrid and I have been over to Queenscliff, we saw lots of hot rods

Apparently there is a gathering there this weekend, hubby and I are going back to have another  look tomorrow.

Sorry it is a blurry photo, but look how far the desert  rose flower has come out!! Yay!!

The other big bud is getting bigger

The Supervisor of course had to get in on the act!!

Today I have been working away on the One Block Wednesday blocks sewing along with the Temecula Quilt Company and the lovely Elyte over at Tea, fabric and other things, we are attempting to motivate each other to keep going!

For some reason blogger turned the photo around, but these are the blocks I finished yesterday, 8 done, 16 to finish to get up to date! I need some different colours I think, these are looking much the same, they are not all brown even though they look that way!!
I had better get moving, Ingrid is making the evenings berry mojito! Yum!!
Happy evening on the way!!
Happy stitching.
