A finish or two

Yesterday I did the last of the quilting on this quilt
and put on the binding. I was given this quilt top to finish of and take to the oncology ward in Geelong.

It is a very pretty quilt.

I was plugging along with my knitting, and got to the last 20 stitches and ran out of wool!! So I found a little piece of another, non matching wool and finished it off.

Buddha was happy to model for me.

The post and rail quilt is finished and ready to go to the oncology ward when I do the next delivery.
I found some lovely flannel at Lizzies Quilt shop in Geelong at $4.00 a meter...perfect for the backing. So nice and soft.

Two more little stars have been completed.

I glanced out the window yesterday and saw these galahs feeding in the grass

I don't know what they were eating but something must have been good!

Concentrating there!
I have sewing down at St Leonards this morning so had better get my skates on. I have decided to walk there today even though the sky is grey , hopefully it will not rain on me!
Happy stitching.

  1. Well done with your finishes! The second quilt has perfect colors for the holidays … I am always amazed when I see pictures of the galahs in someone's back yard - it is the type of bird I would only expect to see in an aviary! Enjoy the rest of your week!

  12. What lovely contributions to the oncology ward! Your friend's quilt is beautiful. You are both so very generous. Lovely scarf! Buddha wears it well. What a great model! I do like that epp project. I really need to decide what I’m going to prep for my to go project while I’m traveling during migration.

  13. Congratulations on your lovely finishes!!! Oncology ward can be a sad and depressing place but I am sure your handiwork brings some comfort and joy to the recipients. Flannel backings are the best and at that price, I'd squeal with delight :-)
