A finish and a start

Last Sunday I went up to Tracee's place and we had a play on her quilting machine. Thank you very much Tracee, it is a huge help getting another quilt on the way to the hospital.
Loaded and ready to go

rows of pattern happening

and the finished quilt. The top was made by Lisa at the Geelong Guild, quilted at Tracee's and I added the binding Lisa had prepared.

Hotch Potch is finished and ready to go too.

I joined a challenge from Susan at DesertSky Quilts to make a block a day for the month of December. I have started out using up the bits of quilt backing I have, I am going to move onto fabric I have been given for hospital quilts. I am a little ahead today, but will not be sewing next week as we have a friend from NZ staying with us and we will be doing touristy things. Hopefully I can make some more before the end of the week. The blocks finish at 12 inches, although I have not measured these - I am concerned they will be undersized, but at least they all look the same so far!!
I am off to sandwich another quilt top I was given and them some quilting will happen......so long as I do not get distracted!!
Happy stitching.

  1. Love the blue shades in the first quilt. It reminds me of the ocean. So how appropriate that you included a photo of Dory at the end of your post! Enjoy the "touristy" time with your guest!

  11. The long arm must have made quilting easy. Both quilts look great. You’ve done well so far on your block a day.

  13. I really like how the blocks look in all your scraps. It was so nice of you to make them. They do go fast, don't they! I like the two quilts, too. That's a nice panto pattern you did on Tracee's longarm. When are you getting one? LOL
