Sunday

It has been a cooler wetter day today, the supervisor and I had a walk down by the beach, a slightly longer one today as it was cooler...mind you that meant there were many more vertical objects to check out and wee on!!!!The agapanthus had their heads cut off when we got back and pulled a few weeds. This afternoon Inhave been cutting stars
I am not sure how I am approaching them from here, I have some more to cut and then I will be off to u tube to have a lesson.
A new LetterMo penpal sent me a little flower water colour painting so I have made a mug rug to send back in return.  Very simple but I love the colour.
Happy sewing.

Busy, busy and a challenge

Yesterday afternoon and evening I was back into chutney and jam making mode,
Chutney with tomato, plum, onion, cucumber and apple and spices, it ended up a bit runny but smells wonderful, I haven't had a taste yet.

The plum jam is also runny but tastes sensational!!!
I have been doing some sewing, so much more pleasant with the weather a bit cooler!! Tracee showed me a panel of fabric in a shop with animals printed on it,  so I backed it with flannel and sewed around the edges,  then stuffed them.
I was talking to Tracee today and we challenged each other to get things finished today and to post it...so here I am Tracee!!!
Today I made these little bags for the animals to sit in
and here they are ready to be taken to Seachange sit and sew next week, they will go on the sales table at the Quilt Show next month.
It is February and the Month of Letters where you try to write a letter/postcard to someone every day of the month, so I need to go and write the letter to be sent tomorrow.
Happy sewing.
Ps How are you going Tracee??

Aussie Hero quilt

Another Aussie Hero Quilt top is nearly done, just needs a trim, good press and some sashings on the sides
you can probably guess the request was for fishing!!
I have also made a little baby quilt to go over a humidicrib...I am helping Jo, she is busy making little things for the hospital at Mildura, you can see what she is up to here.
love the cute animals
I had a wonderful surprise in the mail yesterday...a pen friend , from a Month of Letters, and journalling buddy in the US sent me a gift
we had a conversation about Budweiser via the internet and he could not believe I would drink that beer !! Hee Hee!! I have fond memories of a trip to the US and enjoying Bud Light where ever we stopped in the afternoon!!He also sent me some PURPLE ink so the next time I write in the journal I will write in purple!! He challenged us to us a nib type pen and ink.  Boy it slows you down!! But it makes you think about what you are writing and also makes you try to write  in script. So very special to get something out of the blue!!
I am off to the beach now for a swim and a sit in the sun/shade to read my book.
Happy sewing.

A Month of Letters

Today I have signed up with this site here and I am attempting to write and post a letter each day the PO is open. I did this in 2013...don't know what happened in 2014......but have made a wonderful pen friend in Canada who I might get to meet in 2016 when she comes this way on holiday. Should be a big but wonderful challenge....I love writing and receiving letters and it doesn't happen much these days....hoping a few arrive through the month!
Looking forward to this!!
This afternoon I had a wonderful relaxing time visiting Donna, we sat and watched the dvd of Frozen...I hadn't seen it before and then followed it up with Brave!! Lovely relaxing afternoon, we had berry zinger drinks......frozen berries, lemon gelati, pineapple and water....very YUM!! and popcorn!!
Pretzel settling in with Donna for the afternoon, or until he decides to move elsewhere!!

Mr Pretzel...the colour didn't show in his eyes but they are a most beautiful blue...not sure he wanted his photo taken!! Lol!!

Ready to relax!!
Oh and don't forget this Friday is FNWF! Yippee!! I am lucky enough to be spending it with real in the flesh friends.....looking forward to seeing what everyone does....you can sign up and join in here at Cheryll's
I had better get to the kitchen before DH begins to complain about the lack of dinner!! Lol!!
Have a great weekend.
