This Week

has been a slow week, lots of resting, a little gardening, while trying to avoid the mossies, and a little sewing.

This week another Anthology block was done
The piano keys border was put onto the string quilt, and has been moved to the to be quilted pile.

I went to see Adam and Beth yesterday and had to take a photo to Tira, she is so cute

and Hank with his chewey in his mouth.

a little sleepy bear.

this poppy has survived the heavy winds and rain in the garden, I think because it has grown up into the tree and is supported

signs of more flowers to come

we had a rain shower last night followed by a double rainbow, the colours were beautiful

I found some Christmas fabric so made two mug rugs.
That is all from me this week
Happy stitching.

Sunday

It has been a cooler wetter day today, the supervisor and I had a walk down by the beach, a slightly longer one today as it was cooler...mind you that meant there were many more vertical objects to check out and wee on!!!!The agapanthus had their heads cut off when we got back and pulled a few weeds. This afternoon Inhave been cutting stars
I am not sure how I am approaching them from here, I have some more to cut and then I will be off to u tube to have a lesson.
A new LetterMo penpal sent me a little flower water colour painting so I have made a mug rug to send back in return.  Very simple but I love the colour.
Happy sewing.

Wednesday night

We had a great gathering last night and had some finishes to share
Marg was putting the hanging strip on the back of her quilt - it is spectacular and has hours of work in it. Marg started work on it back in 2009, it was a block of the month and a fund raiser for Fistular Help. Each block was designed by a different person.  (That, the organisation, doesn't sound right - maybe Marg can correct me soon!!)

A close up of a couple of blocks, love the teddy,

and this block too!

This is Anette's quilt started at a class 10 years ago - maybe 15?? Anette has finished it off, quilted it and now is using it, it is beautiful!

Tracee has been busy and has finished this elf, how cute is this?

and this mug bag/rug combination! She is one very clever creative person!

Carol's daughter said she would be making her mother one mug rug a month and so far she has! How cute is this for Easter?? Love the egg quilting too!

And Carol's daughter sent along a bowl of Bunny Tails for all of us to enjoy! How good is that? Me thinks there are a lot of embarrassed tailess bunnies somewhere!! Tee Hee!!
Happy sewing!!

Walking the dog

Today we decided to take a trip up to Ballarat and take the dog for a walk around the lake. It looks wonderful (the lake) being full of water but it was very cold - felt like the wind was coming off the snow somewhere....

..we headed off this way....
...saw Mum swan and the babies on our travels..the babies are so cute!!

...and believe it or not I was walking with DH and the dog but they disappeared from sight when I stopped to take a photo...we are walking not sight seeing apparently!! lol!! Ah well!!!!
I have finished 2 mug rugs for Sylvia my friend who now lives in Ballarat so dropped one off today...especially for the run up to Christmas...no worries Shez you are safe this time!!

this one I posted up last week. Was very happy with this one!
Happy sewing!

We, the Gisborne Girls as we seem to have become known, decided to have a joke with Shez, she has a great sense of humour luckily and we presented her with a book on Mug Rugs (how to make) and we each made her a mug rug from the book. Now we know Shez is NOT a fan of mug rugs...but we had a really good laugh and Shez (after the initial shock) had a really good laugh. Now she has more items for her present box!!
