We started the day driving out to Weethalle to see the Silo we didn't make it to yesterday.
this is a small town with the Silo, a Cafe in the old Railway station building and train carriage
how clever was the painter to get the sheep up on that landing.
We stopped at the Post Office to get some stamps and postcards, I was amazed there was a PO here and it was working. The lovely lady here was up for a chat.
Not sure I would eat here 😕 A general view of the utes
We then drove back to West Wyalong and up to Condoblin, to see the painted Ute's in the paddock. There is a new info centre being built here, car park being built and lots of dirt, so we had to walk around, but that was good.
Clancy stopping the flow!!
Clever play on words!!
Dame Edna in the dunny
A general view
The oldest Holden shown as the Australian coat of Arms
There was bad flooding here earlier in the year
There were lots more utes but you get the idea. There are different ute pictures on
Raewyns blog Most were donated and all were painted/decorated by different people.
We had a lovely lunch at a Cafe here and did a bit of souvenir shopping
There are some wonderful old buildings here. After viewing the utes We headed off to Gilgandra via Naramine where we thought there was a painted water tank. We asked a couple of locals where the tank was, they looked confused and said there wasn't a painted tank or Silo in their town. They kindly gave us directions to the back road to Gilgandra and said be aware of kangaroos 😱. I am aware at dusk that kangaroos could be crossing the roads and honestly am a bit nervous of them. There was no problem, not one kangaroo was sighted! Raewyn was driving and drove us really well to Gilgandra. we did a bit of Tiki touring around to find the motel and settled in for the night.
Off to Baradine tomorrow!!
