a memorial to fishermen - there was another one I didn't take a photo of, it was a memorial to a Russian explorer who rowed from South America unassisted and landed on the Sunshine Coast. Amazing feat.

I loved the whale reflection in the bubble in the clam shell

and so our holiday came to a finish the next day

the hire car was returned to the airport

and off we flew - there was a lot of cloud so this was the view of the coast line I saw once we were up quite a way.

A little sewing happened while we were away, not a lot but every little bit helps

some bits for a new project

and some stars of a much neglected project, that had been in a tin ignored for a very long time!!

I had planned to sew on the way home but found a book in the airport so read this

which I enjoyed very much.

Out and about some more

Sue and I went for a walk in the morning up Mt Emu here in Peregian Springs..I think I finally have the name of the suburb here correct!! There was a lot of walking up but the view from the top was well worth it

You can see from Coolum on the right to Noosa Heads on the left, a beautiful expanse of coast line. After we headed down we wen to a local cafe for a refreshing cuppa.

In the afternoon we went for a drive to Noosa Heads

We stopped at a lookout...beautiful view over the bush to the town and river and sea on the right.

Then we headed off on a walk along the coast path around the Heads, the beaches were crowded until we got a little way from town, there were still lots of surfers and swimmers.

At one rocky beach we saw hundreds of these rock stacks, I know they have a name, Donna and I saw them in Alaska, but I can't think of it at present. Mr Google tells me it is Inukshuk, but their structure is different to these. The Buddhists use stacks as a form of prayer.

I stopped for a while to watch the waves surge in through the rocks, the tide was pretty high but I wondered of these stack stay or if the waves wash them away.

I think we walked about 5 km yesterday, lots of up and down along the coast, so I slept well last night. 😊

I have done a little stitching but not a lot, maybe a little more will be done today.

Out and about

We are having a few days in Queensland at Peregrine Springs. Hubby is happily wargaming and I am being taken to the beach. 😊

 Late yesterday we went to the Coolum Life Saving club and sat on the deckmwatching for whales.  We were lucky to see several plumes and some large splashes which we claimed as whales!! The humpbacks are migrating back to Hervey Bay in the north to mate and calve.

Today we have been for a walk along the local Peregrine Beach

Coming back we passed several walkers, doing either a  30 km or 60 km walk. Talk about keen!!

A little bit of stitching has happened, one star was finished on the plane trip and another last night, I was too tried to finish the second.

Lunch is now finished and packed away, I am not sure what we are doing this afternoon , but I think a little more stitching might happen.
